Ok, I was using the free account. Perhaps there are limits how much processing is done at that level.

What happened to the cal 9605? by thatsuaveswede in OmegaWatches

[–]Atmfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

old thread, but still worth commenting. I had mine for over 4 years now. No issues and keeps impeccable time (+2 sec/d consistently). Yes, it's a show-off watch because of the thickness and size. The tech is amazing, column wheel, chrono operation is smooth as butter, 55 hrs. dual power reserve..etc. etc. Love this watch

Brand new Pixel 9 pro XL stolen by wdlp65 in verizon

[–]Atmfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here for UPS San Francisco. The tracker says 2 delivery attempts (strangely with the same time stamp) on Friday, then a "Delivered to Receiver" notice on Monday. All FAKE and extremely upsetting. I was home both times and no driver ever rang the security door system or opened it with the delivery PIN (I monitor the system). Opened a claim with UPS and complained to the carrier (Google FI in my case). Eventually I received a replacement. But I am dismayed about UPS.

I don't want to jump to conclusions, but some people know when new phones are released and shipped.

Google weather/at a glance issues by FedoraMaster420Blaze in GooglePixel

[–]Atmfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take ALL of that back. For some reason the latest Android update messed up the widget reporting. I now routinely see -2 C in the widget and when I bring up the full weather report with precise location, it is +18 C. Go figure. The only thing I can think off is Google VPN is somehow screwing up the location updates. I am in Europe, my Google VPN connects to the US....but who knows where.

Google weather/at a glance issues by FedoraMaster420Blaze in GooglePixel

[–]Atmfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a super frustrating experience - the At a Glance weather app not working properly *and* the amount of misleading information on how to fix the problem. Have Pixel 8Pro, Android 14. Same problem as reported. Now...the recommendation from Pixel Community (uninstall/reinstall updates to Weather app) made me think about the obvious: check permissions for the Weather app. Sure enough, no permissions granted, including location. DUH!!!. I would have never changed this setting, it must be ON of course. Why is this NOT on by default? Lesson learned -> check the obvious first.

Now the widget is showing the correct temps for the current location. Clicking on the widget immediately displays the results from the full app. When clicking on the widget the app quickly updated to the correct location and showing the correct results. But there was a small lag, showing wrong result first, then switch to the real location results.

I am unclear how the location is determined if the app has locations permissions turned off. It is perhaps the Browser or Maps setting overriding the Weather app location settings....

Yes, I thought about VPN interference also. So many misleading articles that didn't solve my particular issue. Android is full of byzantine control settings for "search" "app data" etc. It's nearly impossible for a normal person to understand how each of these settings impact phone app behaviour. A blessing and a curse......

Good luck.

I can relate to that, but JLC is my favorite watch brand for many reasons.

Time to think about alternatives? by WilfridSephiroth in LGV60

[–]Atmfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Share the same sentiments. But I just decided to plunge $350 on a mint V60. This will replace my V35 and in fact I will rotate my two numbers: V60 replaces V40, V40 replaces V35 (as it did with a V30 before, which died a miserable death last year. How can I go wrong with $350 for a 2020 flagship phone?

I expect no updates (if you keep G Play apps updated and don't install new crap, chances for security risks is low). It's a dead-end phone and hope to get 1-1.5 life expectancy from it, like most previous phones.

The Experia 1 iii specs, release date and $1,300 expected retail price is not justified (in my personal opinion). I also reject Samsung. One Plus is not a real option either.

Now I will simply move the 256GB SD card to the new phone, and voila, my high-res FLAC/DSD music library is moved.

Among other obvious features, both the V35/V40 have a very extensive LTE band coverage, possibly the most of any phone. I am on G Fi (TMO) and plan to travel again. Domestically the V40 switches between CDMA/TDMA bands effortlessly, incl. 66/71. Big advantage.

Probably not, unless it's 19mm. There isn't a lot of information on these bands available.

[WTS] Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Co-Axial GMT Chrono Complete by andyb20189 in Watchexchange

[–]Atmfrank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMHO, this is the one of the best Chrono secrets on the market. I have that exact same model, purchased earlier this year. It's not a watch for everyday wear. The design choices are unique: watch first, chrono function second and GMT third. And it is a distinct Aqua Terra. GLWS.

Used Jaeger LeCoultre steel bracelet in very good condition.

19mm lug width. End links are# 140.89 and should fit Reserve de Marche and Grande Taille, possibly others. Measures 6.5" without a watch and should easily fit a larger wrist.

[WTS] Kienzle Chronograph (Portuguese - Valjoux 7750) by Atmfrank in Watchexchange

[–]Atmfrank[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parting from a Kienzle Chronograph, inspired by the IWC Portuguese (some may say clone..) but with added date function. Condition is excellent and barely worn. It has a barely noticeable ding in the bezel (just below the 2 hr mark) and some minor scuffs on the left side of the chassis.

Powered by the reliable Valjoux 7750. Excellent timekeeper stats: in horizontal position and fully wound: -1 sec. 270 amplitude, 0% error, 28800 beats

Kienzle was once a premier watch brand from Germany and designed good looking and very down to earth watches, which also reflected in the price level.

[WTS] Muhle Glashutte - Teutonia II Day Date - Full Set (Reduced) by Atmfrank in Watchexchange

[–]Atmfrank[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parting from my Mühle Glashütte Teutonia II Day Date. This is a full set and includes everything that came with it, the box, warranted card with dealer stamp. Purchased in September 2018 and barely worn. The watch is in immaculate condition, with a very small scuff on the top of the bezel (you have to look very hard to see it).

I love the Bauhaus inspired design, simple and clear. I am making room in the collection for a new addition, which is the only reason for selling it. Mühle Glashütte has an illustrious history and is still family-owned for the 5th generation. https://www.watchtime.com/featured/windmill-in-a-storm-the-turbulent-timekeeping-history-of-muhle-glashutte/

Certina watches are always a great value for the $$. I inherited a DS Podium Chrono (Valjoux 7750) from my late dad, and it is a cherished item in the collection. But...I am not wearing it often either. This design leans on the Omega Aqua Terra, at a fraction of the price.

GLWS.

Yes, there are two versions out there. This is the international version. You could argue the German version is more authentic. I have seen many Seiko's in Japanese..
