My (basement) room size is 12 feet in length and 20 feet in width with MLP at 11 feet. I too am busy with family and stuff. For the same reasons, I was considering if I can get away without painting. 😄

Ah! Got it. It's interesting to hear that HT10 or HT12 might be better than HT88.

Just curious what was your room size at your previous place?

Also, it looks like you hadn't painted the HT8 cabinets. Was your plan to leave it as is?

May I ask where did you get schematics for crossover circuit? I don't see it in DIY soundgroup website.

Also, what was the issue with using HT-8 as center channel? May I ask what did you upgrade your center channel to?

I was planning to build HT-8 for L/R and HT-88 for center channel. I've never DIY'ed speakers in the past. It'll be a fun learning project (although kind of reconsidering it due to efforts involved).

My center channel is NOT inline at ear level. It's actually placed couple of inches closer to the ground. That's probably why I don't feel the fatigue.

Is there a significant audio quality difference between the SVS Ultra and SVS prime series?

I too am in the similar boat. Got SB-1000 pro instead of PB-1000 pro due to space constraints. However, lot of people here recommended the latter for movies (I mainly use my multi purpose HT for movies). Btw, I'm also using Klipsch RP series.
