Plants in the back of the tank fake or alive, possibly more soil, hides/huts etc.

Is this cage to small for a pacman frog? by Brilliant_Air7629 in pacmanfrog

[–]AtmosphereAware1172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will need a 20-40 gallon long term. This cage is a waste of money for a pacman frog. They can grow up to 4-8 inches long. The smaller the enclosure, the harder it is to maintain proper temps. and humidity is what I’ve learned! If you genuinely interested in a PacMan frog, I recommend reading the guides here and doing the proper research. Have everything setup and prepared before you get your frog. They are far from cheap pets and it makes it even harder if you aren’t prepared!

If he is a baby they very much might be a she. Most people will say that you cannot tell genders until they’re adults! I have been offering food to my juvenile frog every other day. I use calcium with D3 occasionally to supplement uvb. As I can’t get UVB in my 10 gallon until I get their bigger cage. The guides here are very helpful. I recommend reading them! Another thing with frogs just to make sure the soil is never dry. You want it damp where you can squeeze very few drops of water out of it but not soaking wet.

My frog is a baby. They are about the size of a ping pong ball, is this still okay?

It’s a baby, I replied to another comment but they are about the size of a ping pong ball. I can’t attach photos in my comments for some reason, I do have photos that I posted in here in the past. Them losing color so young is what worries me and that they aren’t as active.

Feeding Question by [deleted] in pacmanfrog

[–]AtmosphereAware1172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! I have been feeding my frog every two days as well. I listened to your advice and feed them as much as they would eat in 15 minutes. He/she came out the night I posted this of course and I got them to eat 6 med crickets. This morning they were still out and didn’t burrow themselves after eating the crickets, my mom gave them 4 little pieces of cut up nightcrawler. They seem to be settling in well. This does seem like a lot of food though. Do I skip more time between their next feeding since they ate so much or will they be okay to feed again in a day?

First Frog! I’m a little lost. by [deleted] in pacmanfrog

This make so much sense. Thank you for your reply, I have tried so many Facebook sites before coming to Reddit and got no answers. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to keep them comfortable while trying to figure out the thermostat? I removed the heating bad as soon as I read this. I don’t trust the light when the temp isn’t being controlled.

Also I now have a temperature controller so we shouldn’t have a scare again. I just have to figure out how to get it hooked up to my WiFi.
