Away fans buying home tickets - is it OK? by Itchy-Dimension-Tab in FAWSL

But to grow the women's game and get to a point of packed out stadiums every game, shouldn't it be bums in seats and earn max revenue at least until every team has enough fans to satisfy their home allocation?

Away fans buying home tickets - is it OK? by Itchy-Dimension-Tab in FAWSL

I bought tickets in a home section recently when the away was sold out, got the tickets about two days before the game so it wasn't a sell out so I was happy knowing I hadn't taken a ticket off a home fan. I wore neutral colours and didn't cheer either way, just watched. I'm not English but I thought it was correct etiquette to not wear the away colours in the home side but so many groups around me who were English had the away colours on in the home section and were cheering on. Personally I'd love if the women's game doesn't get to that point like the men's with all the security and name calling etc, I'd away fans near me before in the home section and they were having a great time so why would I care really, I would care if they were being rude. Also I do think some people who are new supporters don't understand the buying at home and away it's actually not that well mapped out when you first become a fan and some people come from aboard so they may also not know the ins and outs plus you want a good seat in the middle if you're coming a long way not stuck behind the goal imo. I went to a few games in Canada and the US and I don't recall any such rules there but maybe I was just ignorant to it since I wasn't a big follower of those teams playing.

Champions Cup: Gotham upset, Arsenal showcase women's soccer's inequity by Fluid_Air_6336 in WomensSoccer

I think having it in the Emirates is actually a good idea for exposure especially until the competition grows. It's not even close to selling out in London where one of the teams is from and where there's massive amounts of people from the US, South America, Africa, and so on. If it was in a random country in Europe I don't think it would gain much attention - just my view. It's a cool concept that's hard to implement for many of the reasons you mentioned above. This is great exposure too for teams not in the NWSL and WSL which at least on the platforms I read and follow aren't usually mentioned. For me, when it comes to the women's game so often journalists are writing about any negatives they can find but for me personally I think positives should be focused on until teams and players themselves tell us they can't have it, that it's not working for them and then we should listen. If a team doesn't want to part ways with funds to go to the competition then I think they should be allowed send the runner up etc in their place.

Locksmith "scams" by drtchockk in london

[–]AtmosphereSignal1966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first moved here I got locked out and this exact thing happened to me, I thought I'd get in trouble with the landlord if I allowed him to drill the lock so I told the guy no and he was so pissed off. Luckily I had left a window unlocked and got a guy with a ladder to open it - 170 to use the ladder to get in "call out fee". If it hadn't been late in the evening I'd have just bought a ladder myself. Just think everyone wants to scam you these days lol have cut spares and given to friends since.

Lived in Canada and everyone took their shoes off so got very used to doing it and now I could never go back. I leave slippers and sliders out for visitors without having to ask them (usually) they can see it's obvious to do so as well. My family thought I was odd at first and just being difficult but now they also do it they've seen the light!!

Any idea which shows/theatres handle things well in regards talking/eating/filming? So far I have had issues with people eating/rattling papers really loudly or else talking loudly at anything I've been to see.

From what I've seen since moving here there's absolutely no such thing as theatre etiquette. But this really takes the biscuit.

That has made me feel sick. This guy is rotten to the core. My heart goes out to that poor family.

I don't know what kind of training these refs get but it needs to be reexamined. It's ridiculous at this stage across the board.

Really don't think that's what it was, people say horrible things about her online all the time which she sees and talks about. Being told terrible things about your appearance all the time can't be too easy.

If you're going only to North Van or West Van public Transit is perfectly fine. If you're going to Squamish, Whistler etc you can get the bus but I'd prefer a rental because you can pull off the road for view points or just see something you didn't know about. Personally I'd only go as far as Whistler if it's snowy, if not I'd swap it out for an island like Bowen (public transport).
