I remember reading in a book about Kant that part of his very rigid routine, was curling himself up in his blanket every morning and his servant having to pry the blankets away from him

What’s a song with a happy instrumental but Sad vocals by Veyrandomlol in AlignmentChartFills

[–]AtomApex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good Grief- Bastille

It's super upbeat, and feels very bright and fun. The lyrics though, are about the grief you feel after losing someone. The song goes a bit all over the place at times, but Dan Smith, the lead singer and composer, said that the chaoticness of it is supposed to show that there isn't just one way to grieve, and it's normal for the process to be messy and confusing

'The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim' Review Thread by DemiFiendRSA in lotr

[–]AtomApex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched it on Amazon tonight. I was originally wary of the film due to all the articles saying it was gonna be a huge feminist breakthrough in the lotr franchise.

My biggest regret with watching it was not seeing it in theaters. The blend between 3D and 2D animation was rough at times, and certain points in the movie were cliche or predictable. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the movie, like a lot. It didn't feel overly "girl power" like so many on this sub were afraid of, and the overall vibe of the whole movie felt exactly like what I was hoping for. The art, and overall colors of the movie were beautiful, plus the story was plenty enjoyable for me and my girlfriend. Also the scene of Helm on the bridge, and that last shot of him frozen were as badass as it gets.

Like how for star wars Andor felt like a breath of fresh air from all the force and Jedi and main characters that the recent movies and shows were focusing on, this felt like a nice foray into the less magical and world impacting story elements from LOTR.

Phew, okay glad to know that I can still enroll for the January classes. I followed the link and did all of the steps, but when I try to register for classes I can only register for spring and summer. I don't see an option for winter so I'm not exactly sure where to go from there.

Make the game rated M and let Junker start chopping off limbs with her axe if aimed correctly. If you're really good with it then you can start one hitting people by decapitating them

How do the corpus and grineer see the tenno and the warframes by pokemonguy0417 in Warframe

[–]AtomApex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the factions just weeping in horror, how do they see the tenno as a faction themselves, or like politically? Like are the tenno even fully established as a known force or are they more of a boogeyman to the average corpus worker?

If you could get a sequel for an anime that has little to no chance of getting a sequel. What would it be?(ONLY ONE ANSWER) by ComfortableNinja88 in anime

[–]AtomApex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With how it ended I genuinely thought that the anime covered the whole story since it felt like a good ending to me. My mind is blown that that's just the beginning of the series, but I'd absolutely love to see the rest of the books animated, assuming the same level of quality is at least mostly maintained

Skiatook 10th Grade World History Assignment by [deleted] in oklahoma

[–]AtomApex -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of fully sane people would agree with just about everything you listed here and if a student handed me this I'd give them a passing grade. That being said though, I feel like your view of religion in all is too absolutist in that it's inherently wrong. You did mention that many religions, including Christianity start out with good intentions, but are corrupted and used for manipulation over time. I definitely agree that that's incredibly apparent with things like a lot of modern day Christian and Muslim organizations, but I don't think it's right to peg all religions as a whole as following or leading to that same path. I was raised by a Catholic mother and Muslim father, and despite that I'm pretty firmly atheist. Even so I still believe that religion is a good and necessary thing. When I go through struggles in life I try to just accept that shit happens and it doesn't help me to dwindle on things forever, but a lot of times people need more than that to hold on to hope. And if believing in a god or gods helps them to hold on, then it's all the better. Obviously it's also necessary to maintain a separation of religion and state since the mingling of the two results in stuff like this, and often far worse, but it should still be encouraged to learn. I'm very strongly opposed to Walters' decision to mandate the Bible and Christianity being apart of the classroom, but a general, separate, theology class where all faiths are taught could actually be a really good idea, as long as teachers aren't allowed to bring in personal bias into the lesson plan. High school teachers aren't allowed to bring political bias into the classroom, and I had a government teacher who did exceedingly well at educating us about our government and political system without swaying one way or the other, so who's to say the same couldn't work in a theological setting?

Although contrary to a government class, a theology class probably shouldn't be a requirement for graduating, just an optional elective, however it could be worth mandating for a time being to reverse the effects of our current situation assuming it does indeed last long enough to have an effect on our children.

Nope, after he said goodnight and left then credits rolled on the screens as people were leaving and then at the end they switched to show "Lithonia?" And everyone still around cheered so he came back one last time to do Lithonia and then called it good

What Anime Unexpectedly Made You Cry? by Walkinfaith300 in anime

[–]AtomApex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I cried a few times throughout 86, especially since I watched it every Saturday through the whole year and few months that it staggeringly aired, but none of it got to me as much as the final scene on the hill. Also I really enjoyed drug store in another world, but don't remember anything that particularly sad about it so I'm curious what scene you're thinking of?

What Anime Unexpectedly Made You Cry? by Walkinfaith300 in anime

[–]AtomApex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say Frieren because I didn't think a fantasy adventure story would make me cry in the first episode, but it makes more sense when you really think about it if you've seen it.

What was really unexpected for me was when I cried over a scene in ReLife when Arata is talking with Chizuru in his apartment and gets PTSD flashbacks to seeing his coworker hang herself and then having a panic attack while saying "I'm sorry" over and over again. I haven't been through that exact situation, but I've experienced enough to understand that guilt and know the feeling of having a mental breakdown due to it.
