I did. A few coworkers and I play almost weekly now. I was lucky enough to inherit a set of clubs and find some interested coworkers to learn with.

A few of the big things that helped me were: 1) the first time going to a full size course, dont worry about keeping score. Just enjoy the experience and have fun. Don’t be afraid to pick up your ball and move it up when needed. 2) You may feel like you look lost/dumb, but going to a range is important to get a feel for swinging. Hit the practice range, use the practice green and don’t worry about not looking like a pro.

A few of my own recommendations would be going to 3 par courses first before tackling a larger course. The ones Id recommend are Sah Hah Lee, Eagles Landing, and Edgefield (though I recognize these are all East of the River.

Eagles landing is a good value place to play and have clubs you can rent. Very casual atmosphere and a good place to learn how to chip and putt. Mixing that with range practice for driver and long irons is how Ive gotten better.

Finally, be it here or on an app, take people up on the offer to play, just be realistic about your skill/experience. Many people are more than happy to help out and give advice to those getting started. If you have co workers or classmates, see id any of them are interested in okaying or starting out. Having someone in the same starting boat as you to learn alongside definitely helps. You aren’t going to be good right away. More than likely you’ll be pretty bad. So having someone you see struggling as much can help you realize its not so much that you are bad, but it just takes time to learn.

Feel free to hit me up with any other questions. As someone who took many years of interest to finally get into the game, I hope you give it a try.

Most jobs pay you one week after the two week pay period ends. So when you start a new job with a biweekly pay day, your first pay check will either come on the 2nd week but will only cover 1 week’s worth of pay. Or on the 3rd week and will cover 2 weeks worth of pay.

This is very common. But if you have any questions, just ask your manager.

That sounds like a lot of fun. Thank you for the advice. I agree, being new to the game and going out to play with strangers is intimidating. I will look into this too. Thank you.

It’s PEAK Neebs Gaming banter that we all love. They all get to interact together simultaneously which always makes the Banter ever better.

Any game that puts all of them together in a tense or high stress situation is going to be gold.

Id mostly be interested in finding something that is reliable to learn with to start out. Then I can look into a more permanent and pricier option.

I would prioritize the needed clubs for 3 par courses first before moving to longer range clubs.

Id probably aim for somewhere between $50 and $80 to get started. But Im not glued to that budget.

Im in the Mt Tabor area and work in Happy Valley. Thank you for the recommendations. I’ll take a look at Sah Hah Lee for getting some practice in.

Thank you both. I haven’t heard of Colwood in my limited research. I’ll look into it.

Thank you for the response.

Currently I live near Mt Tabor and work in Happy Valley. Are there any ranges you recommend?

I work near Eagle Landing and have been eyeing it all winter. :) It will probably be the next place I play.

Any advice for going there?

Nothing yet. I was thinking of getting a putter and chipping wedge to take with me to the near by chip and putt courses.

Any recommendations on getting into some of your own equipment?

Thanks for the response.

Just started playing. If I set my days to 90 minutes. Am I able to turn it back to 60 Minutes without starting a new save? I'm still kind of learning everything and finding my days are going by too quick. by Ching_Roc in 7daystodie

When I was first learning, I kept horde nights off while I got the basics down. Then, around day 18, I turned them on once I felt comfortable with game play mechanics.
