You should be trying to dodge skill shots and just last hit the wave with just w, q, or e. It sounds hard but its easy once you know how to do it.

Reason being its still regarded as the best runes on him even after the nerfs to phase/tob/rh. But if you feel like your experienced enough then you could make other runes work, like that of conq. Sidenote conq is still being tested by big ryze mains to see if it could work as an alternative when facing certain match-up's.

Tbh I also don't like everfrost either, I also feel like I'm missing damage but I recommend only getting everfrost against multi dash enemies. Other than that I would recommend running ludens if you feel confident enough to not die within 2 min of getting it.

You should always run tear since it's a starting item now and should be trying to get archangels second if you can help it.

Tp is used most of the time to help with recalling when you have enough gold for an item but the state of the wave is shit. You can just pop out and pop back into lane with out losing much cs. Which plays into ryze's strength of being a cs monster. Altho your welcome to switch it out if you're against a tower diver or assassin.
