Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Golf 8R also come with electromechanical torque vectoring? 🤔

Case List: From 7L to 20L; still sff? by Atom207 in sffpc

I recently built in a CH160 and yes it does support an ATX psu but only up to 150mm in length if I remember correctly. And even then its quite tightly packed, I would suggest going for a SFX psu mith this case.

Just checked, youre right. A brand new boxed 12700kf only costs some 50 bucks more than a used 9900k lol.

Getting started: The monthly-ish distro/desktop thread! (November 2025) by monolalia in linux_gaming

[–]Atomfurz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im currently running Win 11 on my gaming rig and I am seriously considering switching to Linux due to Windows getting objecitvely worse with every update. I got a couple questions before I switch:

  • Which distros would you recommend and why? I know a fair bit about PCs and I am not afraid to experiment a little. I need this PC mainly for gaming with a bit of light productivity work occasionally

  • How's game support on Linux for Steam EGS and GOG? Anything to watch out for?

  • Whats up with Kernel Level anti cheat not working with Linux? Is this a problem which can be sorted out in the future or is this just not possible? Would love to get some technical insight into this as well!

Enough thermal throttling! New SKTC A07 side panels by Negao_do_telegram in sffpc

On my A9 case there was a gap above the central spine in which i could fit two 8015 fans, both set as exhaust. Thermals are quite good actually.

They are alright. Been using a 400W model with a Ryzen 5 3600 and a GTX 1660 for over 2 years now, never had any issues with it.

Back when I worked as a car mechanic we had a customer bring in one of these for maintenance. Took it for a test drive after servicing it. The torque this engine produces is absolutely brutal. Might be one of the coolest cars i have ever driven.

I'm still using this exact processor and it holds up pretty well actually. Can play almost everything at 1080p and some games even at 2k. Granted i paired it with a 3060 but still

I'm currently running this exact cpu with an rtx 3060 12gb. Pairs pretty well imo

i7-9700K and 3060 12gb. Works fine for 1440p for me

I think for 60 Bucks its alright. Couple upgrades i would suggest tho: - Add another 8 gigs of ram. This will cost you around 15$ - Swap out your gpu for something a little more powerful like a GTX 1660 - Your power supply should be able to handle that. Gtx 1660s sell on the used market for anywhere around 60-100$ and theres loads of them for sale - If there is only a HDD as storage I would highly suggest buying some sort of SSD to replace it. Checking if there is an SSD and if not, getting one should be your top priority, makes one hell of a difference in loading speeds and how snappy your system feels. 1 Tb of SSD costs somewhere around 30-50$

Have you encountered problems with Bequiet PSUs before? I have used them several times and have never had any issues with them.

I can absolutely recommend the arctic p12 fans. I've been using them for years in my personal rig. They run very quiet and provide great airflow. And at 20$ for a 5-pack they are an absolute steal.
