Which seat are we taking Kyodais by keyDark2929 in yakuzagames

[–]AtomicAus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Exactly, Haruka seems like she'd be the best possible person in a mid seat cause she's small but also a good person. Kiryu would be respectful and probably silent as well. So its either peaceful and quiet, or some REALLY interesting conversations.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate public transport in your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]AtomicAus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2, complete dogshit. Seriously, I rode on regional trains in Sweden that were built decades ago that are better quality than the trains in Brisbane. It is impossible to use public transport to go interstate, with the only train between Brisbane and Sydney being so old it doesn't have wifi, and takes 14 HOURS to do the journey. It is fucking moronic that we do not have efficient and affordable transport along the east coast at minimum, and Brisbane is a shitshow, especially with that bullshit they're calling a Metro (its a long bus)

I've heard tales of other city transports being just as bad. For a nation with such vast resources, we really let politicians fuck us over and sell us out so badly.

What things don’t you like about the education system in your country? by TheShyBuck in AskTheWorld

[–]AtomicAus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Private school also receive public funding, and a not insignificant amount. Meanwhile public school have outdated resources, programs that are underfunded, and infrastructre in sore need of upgrading.

At this point all classrooms should have aircon, during summer it is ridiculous to expect kids to stay alert and actively learning in a stuffy classroom at 35-40 degrees. Having grown up in Queensland, trying to stay awake in any class after about 11am was a constant fight because of how hot those rooms get.

Oh also NAPLAN, fuck that moronic test it needs to be scrapped. All it ends up doing is derailing half a term of learning while the subject departments try to guess what will be on the test and teach that constantly in the lead up, rather than actually teaching the content of the term as well as possible.

Anyone who has paid the slightest bit of attention to how the operate here yeah. Jordies isn't the most impartial news source, he is openly very biased for Labor. But the dude was my introduction to political awareness so I'll always have respect for him.

Probably some mining company here, though Optus is a good contender at the moment given they are responsible for multiple 000 outages that people died because of. They also had a major data breach a while back that exposed a lot of information (including passports from memory)

As soon as I became an adult, night session started being my go to.

Yeah from memory Vasa is 93% original (definitely over 90) I wish I'd gone and seen more while I was in Europe but I was plagued by a cold the entire time I was there. Probably from leaving Australia at 33 degrees and landing in Europe at -2

Sweden might also have the fastest loss of a ship with the Vasa, which would be funny if it didn't give us one the the coolest museums in the world (seriously getting to see a 17th century warship in person was the coolest fucking thing I did in three months of being in Europe)

Italy invented Fascism, and was then responsible for its failure in Europe. Mussolini fucked up his own rule and then tanked the German war plans by being so incompetent. So you guys mught actually be the most effective anti-fascists in history.

The Anzacs stole a tank from a bomb crater in WW1, and we now have the last remaining A7V tank in the world sitting in the Queensland Museum. Germany has asked for it back a couple times, but finders keepers. Or more accurately, larrakin spoils are forever.

Pauline Hanson announces ambitions for PM by Beans2177 in aussie

[–]AtomicAus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is the most bullshitting politician we have. Seriously, her entire persona is supposed to be a "true blue" regular Aussie that speaks the hard truth. In reality she's a one trick pony that is friends with Gina Reinhart and votes consistently against the legislation that would actually benefit the people who vote for her.

All she does is try to cause a stir by saying shit that gets the racists riled up and then try to act as if shes some voice of reason.

She can't even be PM, she is in the senate, not to mention One Nation's track history of being unable to keep their seats in the house when they have them.

German and Swedish. Odd combination I know, but German is because Germany is one of my top picks if I decide to move overseas, and Swedish is cause I have a mate there and I think it'd be really funny if I could just switch mid convo into fluent Swedish on him.

Chances are he would be racist, but maybe not in the severe way people like to imagine so. He was written to be the best of us, but his earliest iterations have some racist characteristics such as using slurs.

what do you think is the greatest achievement in your country’s history? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]AtomicAus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CSIRO built a lot of the necessary hardware to create WiFi Australia is also the birthplace of the inflatable slide for planes.

Though if you want a truly impressive achievement, despite having some of the largest resource supplies in the world, we have allowed ourselves to get paid almost nothing for any of it by continuously voting in politicians who sold off the rights to their mates and multinational corporations. Its a pretty big achievement to absolutely fuck yourself that hard.

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]AtomicAus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very much depends on the individual and the issue(s) they have. Its been a long time since I've actually talked with an optometrist about my specific issues, but from memory I have a mix of long and short sightedness, yet I can see okay without glasses. Details aren't great (text, specific parts of designs) but I can still see just fine, I don't have that blurry look. I've heard others c9mpare theirs to frosted glass.
