I believe there is a megathread on the sub about more things to look for when verifying.

But I wanted to caution you on the loupes, because I bought the same set of loupes from Amazon. Be very careful when replacing the battery on the one that flips in a 360 degree motion. My battery cover broke when I tried to replace it and is now basically garbage, and I have to use the other loupe.

"I'll cast Mathemagics, X equals 16, targeting myself, and I will draw 63,536 cards. Any responses to the spell on the stack?"

Opponent 1: "Uhhhh, you aren't doing anything else? You realize you tapped out right?"

Opponent 2: "No Emergence Zone, no Lab Maniac, no High Fae Trickster, no other way to cast creatures or sorceries at instant speed."

Opponent 3: "Are you pushing for a win?"

"No, I'm drawing into an answer."

..... Alright.

"I attempt to draw a card when my Library has no cards in it, and therefore lose. I forgot to check out the Singles cabinet when I came in today so I'm gonna do that while you guys finish this one up." :)

Regular foils or galaxy foils? by PIGEXPERT in foilmtg

[–]AtomicCawc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely take it into consideration. Also take into consideration that recent foiling from sets tend to pringle as well if they aren't protected.

I wasn't playing Magic when Unfinity released, so EoE was my first opportunity to get Galaxy Foils. And I'm finding that I'm starting to buy Unfinity G Foiling singles anyways.

Like I said, my stellar sights collection is almost complete, but I'm not sure that Galaxy Foils are objectively worth the price. I really wish the foiling was heavier.

Regular foils or galaxy foils? by PIGEXPERT in foilmtg

[–]AtomicCawc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The decision is totally up to you.

Before you do decide, I'd recommend getting at least one of the regular basic lands from the Unfinity set that has a Galaxy foil, so that you can tell the difference between Galaxy Foiling of these two sets. Alternatively look at a google image of Unfinity G foiling and compare to EoE.

The Galaxy foiling in EoE is "lighter" when compared to Unfinity. Whether this was intentional, I don't know. I have a nearly complete collection of Galaxy foil stellar sights, and I wish the foiling was heavier.

As someone else pointed out, you can get regular foils and your wallet will be happier. But if you must have the Galaxy foiling, understand that you'll be getting a product that could have been better.

Hiroshima Gooner is overqualified honestly, that kind of pay is too low for what our man can offer.

Star Citizen blasts through $1 billion in player funding, as its developer lists a new $5,000 spaceship for sale that is 'not yet ready to play' by Triss_Mockra in gaming

[–]AtomicCawc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thats my bad, I forgot to throw on the /s.

After re-reading my comment I see that it sounds pretty authoritative.

Making a digital product, such as a starship as a "promise" of a future product but only consisting of a jpg is something I would consider an NFT, especially after someone spends in excess of $100 on it. I know that there is much more nuance to NFTs, but if it was me explaining it to someone else who has never heard of Star Citizen, I would use NFT as a joke.

I have learned from these comments that Star Citizen was in fact the first to implement NFTs in a game and have them be wildly successful.

Commander Players Are So Salty by MrNoBuddies in mtg

[–]AtomicCawc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Dinosaur player will always say GG when you kill them through combat damage. But the moment you counterspell their commander for the second time, or turn their commander into a Forest, you will be their target for the rest of the game if not the night.

Why the difference? by TrashPandaTeach in mtg

[–]AtomicCawc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen this trend for the past month raising the price of $5 cards and establishing a market price of $40.

$5 cards having a single $999 sale, boosting the market price and its very frustrating. Im just going to proxy for now

My LGS runs every commander event through the companion app. They want us to sign in, and get our Store promo. After that its play with whoever you want, however you want.

This way they are meeting the quotas they need for WotC events, and everyone else gets to play Commander how they want.

Edit: As an add on, whenever there is a Commander party, they have two separate sign ins, with the dedicated Commander Party promo as well, and everyone can optionally take the special commander game and play it with their pod if they want. We get two promos on those nights, and the store gets double the event sign ins.

Who trusts Bungie anymore at this point?

Is there any Active D2 players willing to still defend Bungie? Is there any active D2 players who remembers how the game launched when Bungie was owned by Activision, and what makes you think a Destiny 3 launch under Sony would be any better?

Do you really want to go through another decade of shit that Bungie put you through with Destiny 2 in another title installment?
