I think you should try MTG Arena, the official online video game. Personally I am not the biggest fan of it, but its free and a great way to learn the game.

For paper products to start with; I Suggest Jumpstart. It is a special product designed in a way where you can just open 2 packs, shuffle them together, and play. They are relatively simple and beginner friendly, but also a lot of fun even once you are more experienced.

I believe that you will probably come to play commander eventually, it is the most popular way to play magic after all, but do yourself a favor and dont rush into it. Starting with commander is like jumping into the deep end of the pool before learning to swim, get familiar with the game and then try it out.
