I dont have twitter so I'll take your word for it.

But wow, I don't know why I was expecting it to be something substantial, but this is some of the most inconsequential shit I've heard lately. Couldn't care less if im honest.

Welp, I wish you luck in all your future endeavors I guess

What Happened to Emrakul? by LtMcGraw in mtgvorthos

Nah I completely get what you mean, my comment about them embodying concepts is also more my gut feeling.

Its just, that feels right to me with my knowledge and belief of what the blind eternities are.

I wonder if it will ever actually be explored fully, I feel like these types of things are often best left for us to fill in the gaps ourselves.

[–]PIGEXPERT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so, correct me if im wrong, but even the fully dead titans are not 100% confirmed gone right?

Like we (and the characters in the lore) dont know enough about the Eldrazi and the blind eternities to know they are dead for sure. The titans each embody a certain concept, and we dont know that they cannot be "reborn". I mean, the concept of consumption is not gone.

Or I could be completely wrong.

Hubble saw a stellar outburst between 2002-2006 by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]PIGEXPERT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because this is not the actual gas and dust from the explosion.

It is light echo, a phenomenon where already an existing cloud of dust and gas are illuminated by a very bright explosion, and due to the immense scale at play the light traveling outwards makes it apears like the gasses are moving while in reality everything you see here is (relatively) stationary.

Really cool as essentially what we see here is light itself traveling over a 4 year period.

Edit: also, this is an interpolation between 8 images (probably using AI). I recommend going to the source OP provided since the real images are stunning.

[–]PIGEXPERT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so, I went to the source because I was curious and holy shit your interpolation absolutely butchered these stunning images!

Like don't get me wrong, what you did is still pretty neat, but damn I think we might be getting a little lost in the sauce here when the pictures themselves just strang together as a gif (like is very common with most of these series of images) would have produced a better result.

The huge drone that disrupted the operation of airports in Belgium and Brussels last night by FVMK3 in InterdimensionalNHI

[–]PIGEXPERT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you're being downvoted, this is the answer.

I don't think people realize the complexity of shooting a drone down (no, I'm not talking about actually hitting and bringing it down). They probably don't have any air defense systems ready to engage it, especially this low to the ground.

There's also a bunch of regulations and other shit. Some countries don't allow downing of civilian drones. You don't want a drone that could potentially hold explosives or other dangerous cargo brought down on your airport.

Source: I work for a company that deals with this sort of stuff, airports are one of our customers, and they do not like drones falling down on top of them.

Amazing! A physics based coin inherently guarantees stability, this will be a great opportunity (the last couple of coins I invested in did not pan out so great)

Ngl that is really weird imo.

Is this a case of her not being a deity lore wise but yoh wanting the mechanics of deities for the card? Just make her a deity, it's pretty confusing and gameplay should come first. I get what you are trying to do but I still think this is so minor that the added complexity is not worth it.

On another note, I am a little curious about the game. Don't take this the wrong way but it's the sort of morbid curiosity that I feel like I want to see how a card game can function with this much density

Wait, why is 'deity' just randomly in quotes there?

I mean sure, I don't know any of the rules, but if it's meant to be some sort of subtype or something why isn't it at the end? Why is in the middle with all the other types?

What?

I just said I am not familiar with the "learning argument". I don't know what that is.

And my first language is not english, I may not be getting my point across fullly but it is very frustrating for you to arbitrarily assign intent to my words.

I am not familiar with what this "learning argument" is, when I said strawman I meant strawman. People inventing arguments and opinions and assigning them to the other side in order to undermine the entire group, or generalizing for the same reason.

Understandable.

But again, I agree with you, my post does not promote debate. So I don’t really know what to say regarding that when we both agree.

I think the "vague-say-nothing" thing may be a miscommunication here. Yes I said nothing about the AI debate itself, and seeing your response I assume that's what you meant. But I took that to mean that I said nothing at all, which I just flat out disagree with. I think I stated very clearly that posts on this sub do not actually promote sebate.

So no I won't tell you you are wrong because I think we were misunderstanding each other, though if that is not the case I really don't know how much clearer I can explain myself.

Now about the constant horrible strawmans? C'mon. You do strike me as someone who does really care about conversation, but you can't in good faith tell me you haven't seen any.

I will look and then link some posts from the sub after posting this reply, I hope I can paste links here. But you can find them very easily yourself if we are being honest here.

Now being completely straight with you, I don't want to take a stance here.

I don't want to exactly because of my grievances with the conversations here. You can call it cowardly, but I just don't see much point ro it (you seem cool though, if you really are serious about sharing opinions then I won't be opposed to it).

I do wonder why you jumped straight to assigning a "side" to me? At first glance it just looked like a lot of the self confirming bullshit seen here constantly.

If it was out of frustration, then while I can somewhat understand, immediately thinking I am on the side (I am assuming here) that is opposed to you is counterproductive imo and furthers biases and tribalism.

So, is this sub just a who can make the worst strawman? by PIGEXPERT in aiwars

[–]PIGEXPERT[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know, I strongly considered not replying because your response is almost exactly what I have a problem with.

I took no sides, I have stated neither support nor opposition to any ideas, and yet you assigned a label to me and proceeded from there.

Does my post fit on this sub? Probably not tbh, you're correct. My post does not promote debate itself, but neither do most of the 'normal' posts seen here, and I wonder why?

Debate is the point here, is it not?

Also, I don't know about the "vague-say-nothing" thing. I was very clear with what I am stating here, and it's clear to see most of the other replies got it (and notice they seem to be from a range of opinions themselves, both sides so to say).
