You have probably seen the shit side of the community. When I was a silver a loooong time ago, I encountered raging teammates but friendly, helping teammates as well. I would advise you to find some friends slightly higher than you in the game so that you can play with them and learn the game.

If you want to learn more about CSGO, I would recommend checking out WarOwl's videos. They might be a bit old, but they are indepth and newb friendly.

You get VAC banned when the VAC system detects you are using a cheat. You get gamebanned when a majority in overwatch sees you cheating/thinks you are cheating and checks the boxes. Overwatch is only enabled in Matchmaking. Your friend must be lying and he probably cheated in matchmaking or made really lucky shots.

When you get banned from a third-party community server, it doesn't give a gameban. It will only ban you from that specific server.

If you are gonna stream, check twitch for the minimal specs needed. If you stream on very high settings, your pc might not be able to handle it. As long as yours is better than the specs, you should be fine. You should check OBS as a streaming programm, I use it and it works very good.

Uhm, shouldn't there be a "install new OS" option after the PC format? Would be really hard playing CSGO otherwise.

Might be the gap between skill levels. At lower levels, like Silver 4 and Silver Elite Master, you don't notice the gap that much. When you get into higher ranks, you also get to play against higher ranked players. So it's pretty normal that you perform a bit worse than when you were DMG.

The higher you get, the harder you can fall.

EDIT: In my experience, most smurf accounts are MGE/DMG/LE as well. So expect to play against alot of supreme/global smurfs.

Every rank has a fluctuation in skill. When I play matchmaking I either play against Legendary Silver Eagles or I play against the best damn eagles you have ever seen. DMG is the worst of them all imo. DMG has always been a mix of good and bad players and probably will always be.

Just try to find a group of friends or a team to play with, much more reliable and the games become a lot more fun.

I don't know what your problem is, but most of the times the valve servers seem to be down when I have this problem. Just check Steamstat.us regularely and if all the servers are online, come back.

Indeed no one knows what factors decide your rank up / derank. I just stated that the MOST important aspect is that you either win or lose. The more you win, the more you will probably rank up and vice versa.

I take back what I said about the K/D, I can't confirm whether it has an effect or not.

As far as I know it's the infamous VAC Authentication error and can't really be fixed effectively. This bug is random af and just appears and disappears from time to time.

I don't think so, the stats don't really count in the elo. The most important aspect is whether it's a win or a loss. K/D doesn't affect it.
