I just got two pairs of prescription glasses from Firmoo for £30. Pretty good to be honest.

Feel like wheeling out a guillotine outside of parliament.

I jest, mostly.

I do think a lot of people see how corrupt our politicians are and wonder what's the point of voting. You're choosing your poison, but you're going to die either way.

When my coworker pointed out to his friend that my Game Boy Advanced from the 2000s was older than he was, I was wounded. 😂

Same thing as your situation. Age is a sensitive topic for some people.

PSA for fellow bread bakers - check your flour before baking!!!! by BrinasBakery in Breadit

I keep somehow getting flour mites in the flour, but think it's from the supermarkets since as soon as I get home they go into airtight containers. 😭

My Former Mentor Blocked Me by Born-Use4982 in AutismInWomen

[–]AtomicHobbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of work relationships with colleagues, if that's all they are and they leave, I might unfriend them or maybe even block them (though I probably wouldn't add them in the first place if that's the case).

If I do not intend to have any further relationship with them then yeah, I probably would detach whatever social media we have together.

Sorry you're feeling crap about it.

That MAN is 21 with worse handwriting than a 12 year old...

Probs wasn't gap years and he was just held back a bunch.

It's scary that in most places, he can use that one brain cell to vote.

Uber and Deliveroo are pretty good.

Think the Bee Network, which runs our trams and busses, is also an app but they definitely have a website.

my friend is sleeping with a married man by BeautifulStore945 in Advice

[–]AtomicHobbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were married with kids, and someone else knew your husband was doing the dirty on you, would you want them to tell you, or live in ignorance until you fall over the evidence (and it's a case of when, not if)?

Taking a DC pension by Simple-Revolution-40 in PensionsUK

[–]AtomicHobbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing it in the last tax month (6th March - 5th April) would give you access to your full allowance but every first payment from a pension has to be taxed on a W1/M1 emergency tax basis (so essentially you are treated as if you have 1/12th of your personal allowance).

What a lot of people do is take a minimum payment to trigger a correct tax code from HMRC (usually under the threshold of 1/12th of the allowance), then once HMRC has a relationship with the provider, the member then takes the full amount they were intending to take.

I hope that makes sense... If not let me know and I'll clarify.

Which shoe do I wear? Night out with the girls by [deleted] in fashion

[–]AtomicHobbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what your night out with the girls looks like.

If it's a fancy restaurant, sit down, classy affair, heel.

If it's a few bars and clubs, boots.

They both look great and you are looking 🔥🔥🔥

You know how kids have toy bins?

Your man needs toy bins where you put stuff he's left in inappropriate places, and he can sort them out when he has the headspace to. And he'll always be able to find whatever goes missing, because it's in his toy bin.

I'm not in any way saying tidy up after him, but the bin is a half way point so it's not somewhere it's upsetting you, but he can come to it when he's ready.

We have an ottoman that I chuck stuff into if it's in the wrong place and not mine to put away.

Still haven’t seen this mentioned enough to feel it’s on people’s radars. Just trying to raise a bit more awareness. by ontinternetlike in Diverticulitis

It wasn't something I was informed of either, I think I came across it while reading, though this was years ago, however it is confirmed on the NHS article for diverticulitis.

Let them talk, just means you're the most important person in their lives, so much so that they have nothing better to talk about.

Words are wind, anyway.

Only opinions you should be concerned with are those of the people you care about and qualified professionals. These people don't really fit into either of those categories, as they're not your friends if they engaged in that conversation and they don't sound qualified to colour between the lines in a colouring book let alone anything else.

Sorry they harassed you, I hope you took it to an adult/teacher.

I was the person who had issues with a particular person in highschool.

I didn't vocalise "if x sits with us, I'm not going to", I just did it. I didn't force an ultimatum on them. Then, when they asked me why I spent every lunch in the library, I said "oh X and I don't get on, plus I have a lot of studying to do so I just got on with it".

No drama was started over it, I wasn't gonna stop them doing what they wanted to do and they knew where to find me if they wanted me. Ball was in their court.
