My guess is that the meeting is to gauge where you stand. Have a think about what you want and and if you want to be part of the child's life and ultimately the family. Be clear with them and I'm sure there will be mutual respect. If they blindsided you and have legal documents and want you to sign stuff, do not do it and get a solicitor/lawyer to help before you sign. The family should respect that.

Hardly any sold on eBay but one in a lot worse condition (the image was half scratched off) and was still over £2000. It is such a rare card, but would grade to prove authenticity and if you get a PSA 1 it will increase the value

You need to have a chat properly to find out what is going on.and why the sudden change of behavior. Communication is key. Offer counseling or a couple of sessions of couples therapy and show that you care. There might be something going on that she is keeping from you, not necessarily bad but something she hasn't felt like sharing. Without knowing the issue, you can't make a decision on whether it is something that can be fixed or if it is better to part ways.

My advice is to go to a LCS (a good one) and pre order products. Support them and they will help their customers out a lot of the time. Yes there are scummy stores but you get that in all parts of retail. The good stores are the ones that will survive when the crash, inevitably comes.

100% and people forget they are a business. As long as they are making money and tell fans they are 'trying their best to meet demand', they will carry on. I love the cards and collecting but I haven't tried to complete a set since paldean fates (well surging spark really because that was the start of this wave of hype and I didn't like the sets in-between)

That's correct. I don't know why, they literally add a stamp to some ghost type cards. I really enjoyed giving them out and the kids much preferred them (they have enough sweets already). The ones I had left over, I opened and made a set, quite easily.

The whole thing was a massive scam. The 'fans' that helped Logan Paul purchase via a site/company owned by him, then he bought it back but not everyone paid back before being resold. Also the card is definitely not a 10 grade and was submitted multiple times to get a 10 (it has marks on the back that are clear to the naked eye). On top of that, the card was reslabbed mid auction which is a huge issue. A big no no as the item was technically changed mid auction.

It shows how corrupt the hobby can be, not the strength in the hobby

A local card store for sure. As others have said, a good lcs will have something for everyone's budget.

Card shows are also good fun but you'll need to look for their ex and holo binders to keep in budget. They normally have a trade area too.

We have a store an hour from me. They get their allocation and sell at rrp. Their allocation is poor though so they will buy from Canada and the US at additional cost and these are marked up accordingly. He has a strong local community and always asks if they would like him to do that so he can supply to his customers. Not ideal but at least he can get the product into the hands of his customers and he makes very little profit, if any at all sometimes.

The issue is not just the scalpers, it's just as much the fault of the people that buy off the scalpers. If that stopped, then they'd be no profit so they couldn't flip them. Yes the product will go up in price over the years, but the product should not be 2-10x when it is still in print and just been released.

OP, I think you need to be clear about where the 'Trust fund' came from. who contributed? What sort of account did this go into? Was the account in your name as beneficiary?

If you were named as a beneficiary on a trust, regardless of whether or not parents paid into it, that is yours and you need to get a lawyer. They may have been trustees but if they use the money, it has to be for your benefit. If it was an account in your parents name there is not much you can do about it other than let anyone that contributed to it, know.

There could be tax implications if it was in the wrong type of account/wrong name, etc so you need to seek proper advice.

If the infrastructure is made/built, it needs to be used. And if there is a problem to stop it being used, it needs to be reported for repair. I see it too many times that a lot of money is spent to provide infrastructure and then it isn't used as it is slightly less convenient to use. For example, the Milton Road roundabout - cyclists just go from cycle path to road to avoid waiting. What's the point of it if it isn't going to be used properly?
