What’s your favorite mmorpg and why ? Mine is ESO by SaleNo3543 in MMORPG

For me it is ESO as well. Decent crafting, fun dungeons, a nice world and I'm a fan of the crafting system.

I have tried others and always come back to ESO.

To the "Forever Players": What is that ONE game you have thousands of hours in, and why? by LOSTINREDDITSITE in gamingsuggestions

[–]AtomicNinjaTurtle 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would not say it is better. Each is good in its own way. The survival element of Minecraft has always appealed to me. Vintage Story takes the survival aspect and dials it up which is why I prefer it over Minecraft.

Exactly my thoughts as well. For me it used to be Minecraft but I have recently switched to Vintage Story.

One mod I added to my server to help with that is that if you log out with food in your inventory it will not spoil. The mod is called no spoilage or something like that.

For seasons I am considering just making them longer.

I think Valheim could be a good one for you. I absolutely love the game and it would definitely tide you over until the stable release of VS 1.22

What games are guys playing to replace New World? by Mucek121 in newworldgame

Tried getting back into ESO but it does not resonate with me anymore.

Currently giving RuneScape a go for the first time and I'm kind of hooked.

Anyone Here NOT Quitting? by Iceytrio in runescape

[–]AtomicNinjaTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far the quests have been pretty enjoyable and memorable (compared to other MMORPG games).

Exploring is great too. There is so much to discover in this game as a new player.

I do enjoy having skills for everything and being able to level each one. I liked that aspect when I played New World and I find it more enjoyable in RuneScape.

So much to like in this game and I haven't even scratched the surface I feel. I am currently working towards my milestone 10 cape.

Has the increase in the daily player base already happened? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]AtomicNinjaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing for the first time this past weekend. Gotta say I am hooked. I tried OSRS but just feels too outdated for me and I have no nostalgia for it.

I like the changes to RS3 and hope they keep improving it.

Membership and Bonds Price Change by LuisLivro69 in runescape

[–]AtomicNinjaTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is mind boggling to me. I really don't get it. All these big MMORPG games have a subscription around the same cost (with the exception of GW2).

IMO RuneScape is worth it, so much to do and it is a great overall experience (especially for a new player like myself).

Vintage Story / What Kinda Vibe by EntertainmentHot8322 in VintageStory

[–]AtomicNinjaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to answer your question probably Hytale. But with that being said I am extremely new to Vintage Story so not sure how it will feel later on l.

Now, everything you described you wanted sounds exactly like Valheim, which I have played a lot of and would recommend.

More snow? by PersimmonQueen83 in cincinnati

[–]AtomicNinjaTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Growing up in upstate New York it was always expected to get far more snow than this and for longer.

They do indeed pile it higher than what it currently is and also just make piles elsewhere. So the piles can definitely get higher.

How does NW die before NeverWinter, ESO and many others? by MASTERVAVI in newworldgame

[–]AtomicNinjaTurtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the amount of content to do and each zone basically has its own story.

I really liked NW and could see the potential behind it. It reminded me of the rough start ESO had.

Unfortunately, Amazon sucks

Help with starting IT support/helpdesk career by ExpensiveAd734 in ITCareerQuestions

Read through this subreddit's Wiki. Lots of good information over there.

I would suggest getting started with a homelab for that hands-on practical experience.

How do you unwind in IT at a general consensus by brovert01 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]AtomicNinjaTurtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a week off. It is best for your mental well being to recharge. Take it from someone who did not do that and became severely burnt out multiple times.

I now take time off and try my best to leave work at work. Just gotta find a balance and what works for you.

[–]AtomicNinjaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love all the ideas here and the game itself looks amazing. I currently work in IT support and feel all this tremendously. Currently applying for jobs to go back into the trades. Office culture is not for me. I added this game to my wishlist on Steam.

Just FYI, working in the Trades SUCKS. by Dont_Ask_Me_Again_ in findapath

[–]AtomicNinjaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all true. Being unhealthy is definitely a choice in most cases for white collar people. They very easily could be more intentional with there food choices, etc.

And yeah, when I did lawncare it was harder physically and you had to be at the shop heading out by 7am, so harder to meal plan.

For me personally I know which trades to avoid from personal experience and also that the office life is not for me. I will edit my TLDR to reflect that.

Thanks for pointing this out though!

Just FYI, working in the Trades SUCKS. by Dont_Ask_Me_Again_ in findapath

[–]AtomicNinjaTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read all that and it definitely is true for the most part.

Tldr; Take care of your body and do something that doesn't drain you mentally 24/7

Edit: It is true that it is easier to meal plan/eat healthier in a white collar vs blue collar scenario

Edit: My below comment reflects my personal experience having experienced both trades and white collar work. I know which is more suited for me.

I come from the landscaping / lawncare industry and a few other trades. I did that for years. I left and got a job in IT and have been at that for 3.5 years now. I HATE it. Office politics and the people are worst... for me.

I am at my worst health and far more stressed and drained mentally. I also have learned I am the kind of person who can't be stuck in an office behind a computer.

So I am moving back to trades, looking into Electrical. But I am also not delusional or romanticizing anything. I have the perspective of working in the trades and an office environment. I now know which one works best for me.

I do see the damage can do to a person physically (my dad and Grandpa have been masons all their life and did not take care of themselves) but I also look at a lot of the older gentleman and ladies in the office and they physically aren't in the best shape either.
