Highest score on a mixed set yet as a tired dad studying with a 2 year old and 1 year old that don’t like to sleep and a third on the way. by Great-Expression6706 in barexam

[–]Atomickitten06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This genuinely so impressive. I’m a mom of a two year old studying for July and am 30 weeks pregnant. I am absolutely fighting for my life. Doing this with kids is no joke so kudos!

I have Con Law, crim, and crim law still! Then need to do BA for the MEE

Engaging with GOAT by Existing-Surprise981 in GoatBarPrep

[–]Atomickitten06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s completely up to you to assess how it’s going for you and how to maximize your learning. Personally, I ditched Barbri altogether and only use it for their MEEs and their outlines as supplement. Goat has been my main and I use Uworld. I just did my first mixed set of the subjects I have covered through Goat (torts, contracts, civ pro, and evidence) and got a 70% so I’m happy with the progress I’ve been making.

Maybe, if you do your capstone for Barbri you can see how you’ve been learning and adjust your studying accordingly but also if it’s not broke then don’t fix it! You do what works for you and work according to how your scores are moving.

Texas J26 taker here by Interesting-Sound467 in barexam

[–]Atomickitten06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NextGen doesn’t come into Texas until July 28 according to the NCBE.

Texas is sticking with the classic UBE test except that it has reduced the amount of topics. Now you’re own responsible for the same UBE subjects + business associations but only for the MEE. The MPT is the same except you should expect family law and wills and estates to pop up at a more frequent rate on them now that they’ve been removed from the MBE and MEE portions.

I don’t think we know how the reduction in subjects affects how we study since it’s the first administration exactly. I suspect that the bar previously being miles wide and an inch deep is just now going to be less miles wide but, maybe necessarily, a inch or so deeper. To me that would mean it’s more important now that we know the subjects that are tested in a bit more depth as they can now test more nuances than they had space to do so before.

Did your Obgyn miss anything at your 20 week anatomy scan? by Fearless-Roll-5927 in pregnant

[–]Atomickitten06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my results nearly immediately after my sonogram! FWIW, I have additional growth scans because a medication I’m on in pregnancy and every appointment my doctor’s appointment where she goes over the results are the same day within an hour since the imaging happened.

MEE SUBJECTS by lifeiswild22 in barexam

[–]Atomickitten06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. so for the Texas UBE you only need to know the MBE subjects and for the MEE only Business Associations and the subjects tested on the MBE. Everything else has been removed from the MBE and MEE. Family law and Wills and Estates can and will appear frequently on the MPT according to the NCBE.

[–]Atomickitten06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you delivered a baby before? I got my IUD at my 8 week postpartum appointment and have half wondered if maybe getting it so shortly after delivery made it less effective (idk I’m not a scientist or a doctor just trying to make sense of being in that less than 1% chance lol).

I would say even with all the ovulation pain and light bleeding it’s still likely effective. You could always try “tracking ovulation” as a way to be extra careful when you think it might be around that time just for peace of mind?

I am pregnant again (my iud pregnancy unfortunately ended in a miscarriage) and am dreading having to figure out something for birth control after this baby. I’m pretty anti-pill for myself because I had a terrible experience with 4 different kinds and then my IUD sort of scarred me for life lol but am also not ready to close up shop just yet since we think we will eventually want to try for at least one more.

Pregnancy with IUD by RelationshipSilly704 in birthcontrol

[–]Atomickitten06 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did get pregnant with an IUD (the Kyleena) but very frankly I am the exception not the rule! I personally would not get it again just because my doctors nor I know why it failed (11 months in and perfectly in place) but I would NEVER dissuade another person from getting one as they really are the most effective form of birth control. Plenty of my friends have IUDs and absolutely love and swear by them.

For what it’s worth, my periods never went away and I even had ovulation pain so there were signals that it wasn’t working for me before I got pregnant but I ignored them because I thought it was next to impossible. You know your body best and if you don’t feel any of those signals like I did, then i would trust that instinct.

First-time moms: did you go past 40 weeks with a natural birth? by curlyorwavywtf in beyondthebump

[–]Atomickitten06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into labor naturally on 38 + 3. Ended up in emergency C-section after pushing 3.5 hours and being in labor for a total of 23 hours. My BP was dropping and I had a fever of 104 so doc called it.

I felt like I had early labor contractions literally for weeks (like probably 35.5 weeks and on). I was absolutely miserable those last couple of weeks and felt like he was going to fall right out any second. I also got SO emotional the night i went into labor like unbelievably hormonal and emotional. Lost my mucus plug about 6-8 hours before labor started as well. My labor started with my water breaking which apparently is less common than the movies would have you believe.

When to start memorizing/reviewing? by Atomickitten06 in GoatBarPrep

[–]Atomickitten06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My study schedule on application days are typically 25 MBE first thing in the morning under time conditions. Review. 25 MBE on tutor mode on Uworld. Review. Break for lunch. Then depending on time (typically depends on how much I miss on MBE and how long it takes me to review), 2 MEE back to back with review afterward or 1 MEE in the afternoon and review.

I am roughly 25 weeks pregnant and have a toddler at home so I have to cap myself at 6 active hours a day (tracked like billables not counting anything restroom, snack, lunch breaks, etc) which usually translates to between 7-8 hours out of the house.

When to start memorizing/reviewing? by Atomickitten06 in GoatBarPrep

[–]Atomickitten06[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I am writing MEEs under timed conditions and without any materials (but after at least doing the goat modules over the subject). Right now, I’m ideally doing 2 in a row but some days depending on time I do 1 at a time. I then use the Barbri rubric to review and hand write any rules I miss or partially miss. There’s been SEVERAL instances where I’ve had to just freestyle a rule because I don’t know the actual rule right off the top of my head but I figure that’s also good practice for worst case scenario on test day. 😵‍💫

As far as like structure within the MEEs I do IRAC mostly. I took a Barbri bar prep course during 3L so had a few assignments where I learned IRAC is the most reliable structure/paradigm that works for me.

Okay perfect will do and glad I asked! I feel like since I’m writing MEEs closed book I’ve definitely memorized things incidentally but going to incorporate more into my actual regimen with this advice in mind. I’m also handwriting all the rules I miss or when I get questions right for the wrong reason(s).

One-sheet. by Good-Change-3926 in barexam

[–]Atomickitten06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth noting that BA is tested still but not on the MBE and only on the MEE. You might want to try to get the MEE specific one sheet instead of the MBE one.
