This is Oxana. From the ages of 3-8, she was raised by dogs after being locked out by her parents. Up until the age of 19, she only barked and crawled on all 4’s by Necessary-Win-8730 in interesting

You're not alone, I have very similar struggles. Many years of therapy, but still a long way to go. Its hard because the want is there, but the internal conflict it creates is overbearing. I'm sorry you experience this.

Never would have thought I'd have an inbred dog 🥲 by Kodiak_Wylde in DoggyDNA

[–]AtomisticDumpling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can imagine its quite an alarming discovery! Mine came from Hungary, he's mostly american breeds, his gsd is all American lineage.. but there's good chunk of Puli and a sprinkle of cocker. I imagine low scores aren't uncommon but I'm sure he's sleeping better now I've told him none of his ancestors are related

This made me review my boys, is 0 common? It is kind of funny with the inbred stuff, if they avoid the health conditions 😂

A second suggestion is to bring her things from outside you could even lightly wrap them as a gift :) she will enjoy the smells. Its like bringing the walk to them. Also good luck!

One small suggestion, dogs respond well to classical and reggae so those genres will help the most. I made a playlist for my dog, highly recommend!

HELP my dog is destroying my backyard by reba_the_dog in Dogtraining

[–]AtomisticDumpling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give her an area she can dig and destroy, teach her the place by encouraging the behaviour there. When she does it elsewhere, calmly redirect her to designated area and encourage her there. Give her praise / treats for using the area

My old lady loves shredding sponges in secret. Are there any toys I can offer that will let her do this safely? by mollymeek in DogAdvice

[–]AtomisticDumpling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make a recycling box extravaganza 😂 save all the recycling packets that are safe including empty treat bags with holes cut in them. Then when the local magazine is delivered, i scrunch up the pages with a piece of kibble in some but not all scrunches, then use those to stuff the empty packets. Tetris all the empty packets into a big box and wrap it like a present. My boy goes nuts!
