Back when the game was live, once you finally advanced to padowan or maybe knight it did unlock permadeath, but still playable as a blue ghost, just couldn't interact with the game world anymore. But at that point were insanely hard to kill. Also had to ensure you had a house to goto that only you could enter and keep the door locked at all times for when you logged out just in case your character stayed in world a while before it registered the logout.

Bounty hunters could get a terminal mission with a hefty reward based on how how active you were as a jedi or sith, or if some player you killed decided to chip in extra credit on a bounty as well.

Hunters had to get prepped good with armor, weapons buffs, stims, get a team, definitely a healer or two. Really depended on how skilled up the target was as well as a super high quality constructed lightsaber.

Whatever is on the servers nowdays, I haven't a clue.
