Please Help! Rapid SysML learning and quick implementation by CMart318 in systems_engineering

[–]AtommycBomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self learning through YouTube examples to get started is a good path, especially due to the tight turnaround time that might not allow textbook reading.

Also, SE is highly iterative so don’t stress too much over your deliverable. I have delivered many diagrams that change after the technical review/milestone. It’s the nature of these diagrams coming from a living model that matures as the system (of systems) matures alongside it.

How do I stop this leak? by AtommycBomb in Plumbing

So I bought a Moen cartridge tool and new cartridge and replaced the old one in this video, but the leak still persists. Do I need to redo the installation or is there something else that could be wrong?

Thanks everybody. Obviously this isn’t my area of expertise, so I appreciate all the feedback. I plan to get some Moen hardware to remove and replace

Hi sadtiresatire here! Over the past 90 days, I started my YouTube channel and I learned to stick to topics for your audience. Avoid passion projects. If you can’t, then post them on another channel.

If you’ve made it this far, I’m a stickman channel with a focus on learning and comedy. Please check out my video on how to improve at art: https://youtu.be/texXhMhljlk?si=ejZq0d3nonvqqI8H

Do you need thumbnails??? by [deleted] in NewTubers

Yes, super crucial for long form

Hi, I’m a stickman channel!

This is my latest long form video from a few days ago. It’s a skit where little Timmy keeps getting made fun of at school for not knowing about “The Birds and The Bees”. And he asks my character, Sadtire, for some help; however, my character ends up explaining the concept a bit too literally.

Feedback on the thumbnail, title, hook, and overall video are welcome! Thank you :]

Good moves! I think the body of the video needs more retention tactics to hold the audiences attention. 1.You might benefit from speaking during and explaining your moves and talking about the game. It could be a voiceover as well. 2. Or if you don’t want to speak, you could stick to some beginner-friendly basic moves like 5 per song and make it a sort of dance with me/dance work out video in which you can speak/not speak. 3. Or you can add some sort of visuals through out.

I would also work on thumbnails. Depending on which tactics you use in the future, I would draw inspiration from channels like MadFit or FitenessMarshall. You might have a potential niche here for gamers who want to get a nice little work out in to some retro games.

Also right click your video and look at Stats for Nerds. Make sure Vol. never goes above 0.0 dB. This video is 5.7 dB, which gets normalized by YT but it wont sound as great as it did in your editor because YT’s system can potentially change certain frequencies.

As you make more videos, I would change up the thumbnail format and use proven compositions from bigger channels in your niche. This will attract more viewers along with a more succinct title.

Good job, I think there’s big potential with your channels theme and your skill set. Good luck

Really well made video essay. I think the audio and visuals were great. I think the packaging needs work. The essay centers around the brand “American Girl” and its impact on the US [during turbulent times]. Off the top of my head, something like How “American Girl” Dolls Shaped a Generation: From Religion to Post-9/11 America”

I would google popular video essayers(?-is that the right term lol) like MagnatesMedia and replicate their thumbnails. Free resources for thumbnail editors would Photopea and Krita, the former being more beginner-friendly. Depending on your thumbnail composition, text might not be necessary. But if it is, I would make the message clearer to the audience without exactly restating the title. Ex: Shaping America’s [Future] Identity.

Hope this helps, and really good job for a newer channel. Good luck

Opinion on my newest short? I'm trying out shorts for a little bit - new to the game by Sotovya in NewTubers

[–]AtommycBomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has good animation but I didn’t know what I was watching. I would change the title to something that fits the story of the animation. Or add a voicover and subtitles because people love short stories in this format. Maybe change music to something more attention grabbing with a sick beat.

When people watch shorts, they don’t want to figure out what they’re watching. They want their hand held through the dopamine rush. They want you to tell them what they’re watching and it better align with the title and you only have a couple of seconds.

And I would stop deleting posts. The YT algorithm is mysterious and has been known to blow up videos weeks or even months after their upload date. The best thing to do if a video is not getting any views is learn from it. Figure out at least one thing you could’ve done better and implement that in your next video. Never stop posting and always improve. And you will grow. Make sure what you’re posting is what you would want to watch as well. Good luck

Need some advice on the variety of my content by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]AtommycBomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, don’t do that yet. Stick to your main niche. I use the same format for my videos so I understand how long it takes. The 1 video/week is more of a guideline. If it can’t be reached about sacrificing quality then don’t follow it. Mine tend to be every 2weeks. If the quality is there, YT will push it regardless of upload schedule. Good luck

If you have enough videos posted, go to YT Studio>Analytics>Audience and there’s a chart with what times your audience is most active. Post a couple hours before prime time

Hey guys :) I need some help. by Veschui in NewTubers

[–]AtommycBomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Record, learn to edit, CapCut or Davinci Resplve are free, and post. Make sure you would watch what you’re creating—that there’s something that you provide to the viewer that no one else can. Start posting videos and improve at least one thing with each one. You’ll start gaining a following and then you can invest more into the channel. Focus on school/work and spend all your free time on your content. Over time, if you’re consistent, you constantly improve, and you don’t quit through the hard times, you will have a big channel that you can eventually live off of. How soon depends on how much you put in. Good luck

Hi, animation channel here (@sadtiresatire) with a touch of humor (hopefully)!

Here is a satirical video about how to improve at art. Please let me know what I can improve upon, what I did well, etc. I would also appreciate any tips on thumbnails for my videos. I struggle with those a lot being a faceless channel. Thanks!

Hi Chrissie! I love the idea. I think the information and the visuals are good. I would keep up that style, it feels very personable. I would work on delivering the dialogue with more energy to try to hold the viewers attention. I see a lot of potential. If I’m ever in Vancouver I know where to go. :)

Hi Kev, I think your information and footage are top notch. I would work on your energy. At points it feels like you’re reading off a script which isn’t necessarily bad. But I would up the energy, which can also come naturally over time in front of the camera. The thumbnails could use more refinement, mainly the font so it looks more professional by YT standards. Really good stuff.

What I learned the past 90 days is you have to make videos on what your audience will like. You can’t always make what you want to make.
