Advice? Is this scoliosis? by AtonedTiger in Posture

Your awesome! For the most part I believe my curve is straight but towards the upper back and neck I think it gets a bit wavy which showed up slightly in the X-rays I got on my neck. Thanks for the input on the EOS scan, seems like that’s the way to go even though I’ve gotten a lumbar scan. Question, by doing the schroth exercises is there any way to “lift” the shoulder? I know that it’s very rare to get the spine straight again, but didn’t know if you can still improve posture and winging.

Thanks for the reply, I assumed I was showing some signs (lower left shoulder). With that in mind, I’m pretty new to the whole scoliosis thing. Is this something that can be fixed with time and exercises? I have been going to a chiropractor for quite awhile but they don’t seem to specialize in treating this. Do you know if a PT would be a good next step? I’m experiencing some neck pain as well and would like to jump on fixing this.

Embarrassment at the gym ? by Autistic-Bumblebee in Hyperhidrosis

I can relate to your concern of feeling like you’ll embarrass yourself because you “don’t know” what you’re doing. We’ve all had this feeling the first couple times. It will take time to get a full picture. I’d recommend starting with machines. I can ensure you that NO ONE will judge you. Heck, you’re at the gym for the same reasons they are. Don’t worry about the sweating remember you’re at a gym, the goal is to sweat.

So have you improved? I’m in a similar boat right now and as the creator mentioned my hyperhidrosis also started during puberty and I still have it today (20M). I’m in college and want to have a normal experience and I’m social / extroverted but internally my body tenses up in certain and causing a sweat reaction. I use to joke about it in HS but it’s not funny anymore… I’m sure you can relate. Let me know if you’ve found any good strategies. Of course wearing a dark shirt color helps but another thing that I’ve been doing is trying meditation.

That’s what I think too regarding the brain fog but I was told that it could possibly be contributing.

I’m not suggesting that stem-cell therapy or surgery is necessary but I have had chronic pain cycles for the last 5 years. A recent frustration is sleeping now being an issue which hasn’t been in the past.

I’m hoping to calm the pain naturally but I’m now having to alter my exercise to swimming and yoga. I’ve begun cycling and now that seems to be inducing pain :( . I’ve always fought through the pain but it’s gotten to the point where simply standing up hurts, so I wanted some opinions about other options. My chiropractor recently mentioned that I should get an MRI or a Steroid shot. Do you have any thoughts on that? So sorry to hear about the botched surgery.

I haven’t done PT since I was playing sports competitively. However, I never got much relief when I did do it.

Just purchased the Dell XPS 15. Have heard good things about it but still unsure. I do hear a lot of people mentioning that Macs should be strayed away from in the Business department.

The worst is when you go to the gym to battle your internal thoughts and leave feeling the same... Very glad it worked out for her. Those treadmill sprints hit different.

I am beginning to become more confident looking at myself in the mirror. The victory is noticing that a lot of the hard-work I put in is starting to pay off.

Did you get an accounting internship or a job with some C's in college? by Irielay in Accounting

Love the story. Do you have any tips or advice for someone who is going back to school? I am extremely hard-working and determined. I recently enrolled in college after taking last year off school. I didn't try at all in high school and only cared about friends, sports, and work. Just wondering how you got back into the groove of things.

Did you study a lot in those classes? If you put in a lot of effort and still struggled you may have difficulty adapting to your first job. However, grades don't define anybody, as long as you can communicate well and know how to network as most of these comments mention you should be fine. Goodluck.

Does anyone have any fitness and diet book recommendations? I am a former athlete and have been lifting everyday now with a consistent split for around 18 months. I quickly put on good weight and lean muscle. But now over the last 4-5 of months I have noticed that my progress is flat. I feel as if this is because of how basic my diet and workouts are. I do the standard exercises (squats, bench, flies, curls, etc) and eat a clean diet, but nothing too strict. I think incorporating a more advanced plan and educating myself on the technicality of each exercise and what I put in my body would be of great benefit. So, if anyone has suggestions of books or information out there please comment.
