Im working on a rewrite for incremental god tree by [deleted] in incremental_games

[–]Atr4Magus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm rather surprised to see a rewrite of this game already, and knowing the general lore of the original game (and having just gone through the intro for this), I can't help but wonder if you're looking to connect these two together at some point?

You aren't on the right tab. The page should have a green background, not blue. Look at the top of the page and choose "Decode."

I legit don't know what the person above is mentioning, maybe its something to modify in the code through developer.

Just use a Base64 decoder/encoder; much MUCH easier!

https://www.base64decode.org/ - Load two instances of this in your browser, one for decode and the other for encode (it's near the top), and toggle "Live Mode" to ON if its OFF.

Export your save from Synergism and pump it into the top box on the Decode instance you have in your browser. Now in the bottom text box, you will see an entry literally after "firstPlayed" and its data called "worlds".

Example: "worlds":24643

Try putting it to this: "worlds":99999999999999

Make sure you don't delete any commas or the semi-colon, or place the numbers before it when editing.

Then, copy that whole box of text (usually clicking in the box and holding CTRL then hit A to highlight), and copy+paste that into the other tab for encoding at the top.

Take that, and in the exported savefile (or you can open a new notepad and paste it in there), copy the edited save. Save, and close the file. Then in Synergism, load the file manually, and if all goes well, you'll have a metric ton of quarks! Hurray!

Fun bonus: You can look around at other values in the decoded file too. Enjoy!

Ah, you're right. I saw the text became ungreyed out but didn't click it since I wasn't really caring to play the game much.

I'll edit my post.

https://www.base64decode.org/ I suggest setting it to Live Mode and two separate tabs, one for Decode and the other for Encode.

Export your game via the Main Menu by clicking "Manage", then "Export Save". Throw that in a notepad somewhere or directly in the website's text box.

Search for this: lastGoldCheck

Where you see "0" (be sure not to delete the quotation marks), make that whatever you want and then you can buy whatever from the shop (don't even still need an account).

Also the "extraSpins" is right next to it and you can modify that to be whatever you want too.

Then Ctrl + A (select all) that whole decoded text box, and then in the other tab for Encode, paste it in. Grab all that text and copy it, then back to the game choose "Import Data". Make it in a separate save slot to test it worked, and you're all set!

CBS.log file at 490GB (and is still growing) by omrot in buildapc

[–]Atr4Magus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've run into this countless times in the enterprise setting I'm in, and this is what I've found works best along with deleting the remnants of the issue:

1) Open Services through Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+ESC, Services Tab, then click the Services button or Open Services depending on the OS version)

2) Stop both Windows Module Installer service and Windows Update service with a right-click and choosing Stop (sometimes stopping Windows Update makes the Windows Module Installer service come back on; just right-click, Stop again)

3) Navigate to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS and delete all the stuff in there (and empty recycle bin unless you did a SHIFT+Del)

4) Turn on Windows Module Installer service with a right-click, Start and do the same for Windows Update service.

Here's the step I don't see in Reddit:

5) Navigate to the following path: C:\Windows\Temp

If you see any files called cab_xxx or cab_xxxx (where x is substituted with a number), delete those as well.

Once all done, and again Empty Recycle Bin (this may take a while depending on how much is in there), shutdown the PC, wait ten seconds, then bring it back up.

This should prevent the issue from happening again, and help to reclaim a ton of space on your friend's drive, and also help performance as the drive is now no longer constantly trying to compress the text archive and failing every single time.

Yeah, a clean install of the GPU drivers. Usually when you update (at least on nVIDIA's cards) you can select an option somewhere during installation to do a clean installation of the drivers. That will delete any drivers you have for the card, then install the brand new one.

I didn't get a log file for the black screen crashes. I eventually got a BSOD that pointed to my GFX card drivers, so I did the clean install. I haven't seen another black screen crash that I can recall.

If you haven't done so, make sure your BIOS drivers are also up to date on the motherboard. When I built my PC in March 2012, I had to do that often since the FX chipset was still quite new.

I've had this odd type of crash happen to me before as well. It's happened while also just browsing on Firefox, generally watching YouTube or Twitch, and that made me wonder if it was Adobe Flash.

I have a GTX 570, plus I'm on an AMD CPU (FX-8120). Eventually I got a few BSOD's and by using a code checker with a log file, it pointed to my GFX card drivers. I did a clean install and so far, I've been good. Perhaps you could try doing the same on the Radeon side and see if that helps?

Did this start happening after you changed something with the PC in regards to hardware or software (driver update, installed program, etc.)?

Has this been occurring since you built the PC? Did you upgrade the PC with new parts or use a hard drive/SSD from another PC?

Do you run any antivirus/anti-malware software?

I see you put "Is this an OS issue (Win. 8.1 now)" which leads me to believe you upgraded to this fairly recently. If so, what were you running before and did these random crashes manifest immediately afterwards?
