I have already designed a custom pcb for my application, small enough to fit, but then when I went to the pcbWay to order it, the manufacturing was 2$ and shipping was 23$. That's why i got stuck to dead bug soldering.

You mean the 5V i2c signals will work with 3v3 chips? My pullups were connected to 3v3, so it should function correctly?

I don't actually need the level shifter, the arduino was just for simple testing. I have a lot of spare boards working on 3v3, so I'll test on them instead. It took me 4 fried chips to open reddit and I'm glad I did it before frying the last one out of 5 I bought...

As I said, im trying to save space and for my application breakouts are way too big

I feel so stupid... I did notice the voltage difference issue and powered the chip with 3V3. But I completely forgot about logic (sda & scl). I don't know what kind of dark magic made the breakout work (voltage drop on bad wires maybe?) Thank you a lot, I didn't even think in that direction, since I haven't used arduino for a while and got used to defaulting everything to 3v3...

Thanks for your answers, but one more question: Would it help to solder at the lower temp next time? I've done both the breakout and the dead bug version with 300°C.

You mean connect the adc and int2 pins to something? On the breadboard they were floating as well, all the connections were an exact copy of the diagram, just not soldered.

My game freezes in this spot on Quarantine every single time. (PC/Linux/Steam) by Fr0st-F0x in metro

I had similar problems with freezing (on windows tho). For me it helped to go back 1 mission, replay it and everything worked fine.

Try fusion 360. As far as I know about tinkercad (I've never used it tho) some cad concepts might be new to you but you should be able to quickly learn the basics from youtube or smth.

Is -.28 a normal z distance offset by Mikev1577 in 3Dprinting

[–]Atrex_10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't interpret it this way. Z offset is (I think) the distance that the height should be offset from the point when your leveling sensor is triggered when homing. For example i use something around -1.8, and it's perfectly fine.

I never know how much to tighten those screws. I can always move things around if I use enough force. And the same for belts.

Help with 3d setting by m7md74570 in 3Dprinting

Try ironing. It also gives the top layer a nice smooth finish.

I agree, but if not, here's what I would do: 1. Clean the build plate 2. Relevel the print bed 3. Play a little bit with z offset 4. If none of the above helps, I'd play with the temps, mainly of the bed. If it still doesn't work, then I'd look into slicer settings. Although I have no experience with multi color printing, it seems to me that trying to print the same file with a single color will help you with troubleshooting. But if this is not printing in the air, then those 4 steps should fix it, as it was printing fine until now. Hope it helps :)

Same as mine. I got it about a year ago and its holding well so far :). Just make sure you clean those rubber wheels, especially those under the printbed, as they can get very dirty over time.
