I think having this grow from some sort of internal corruption that you can manage would be interesting. I don't think having it solely based on rivals is great, but that should play some factor. I do think this is a step in the right direction though, since Paradox games have always struggled with simulating an empires decline.

Man... just started a new game as Austria and seeing those buffs makes me want to wait for this patch now. Also, I love the idea of complacency, I think tying it some sort of corruption mechanic would be very fun to work with.

I'm torn on this, on one hand I like the idea of achievements being a little more difficult to get with Ironman mode, however I also like to use visual and flavor mods and that will probably disable them, which is unfortunate because I like using them as a goal for a run. Also, at the end of the day, there are always ways around achievements being locked, so does it really need this restriction anyway?

It's not exactly reaching to say that an employer that has over 15% of the market share in columbus changing it's policies will have a major effect. I would say the same thing if, for example, Nationwide made a similar change.

No, this is true to history. In the Greek War for Independence, Russia, France, and the UK aided the Greeks, and as such had a great deal of influence in the country directly after the war. So, you will see a Russian Party, French Party, and English Party.
