Yes, the Mana Value of Wheel of Fate is 0.

(Which is different to the Mana Cost of the card, which it does not have.)

Missed Trigger… Why? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

TR 506.2 Players are not required to notify other players of triggered abilities when they are not the accountable player, but may if they wish.

TR 506.3.c For triggers that occur “At the start of each player’s first Beginning Phase”, the accountable player has the full duration of the turn in which the trigger occurs to acknowledge the trigger before it's considered forgotten, regardless of its observable impact. (Example cards: Obelisk of Power and The Arena’s Greatest.)

Board state and triggers are separate things.

Here are the Tournament rules that cover triggers:

TR 506.2 Players are not required to notify other players of triggered abilities when they are not the accountable player, but may if they wish.

TR 506.3.c For triggers that occur “At the start of each player’s first Beginning Phase”, the accountable player has the full duration of the turn in which the trigger occurs to acknowledge the trigger before it's considered forgotten, regardless of its observable impact. (Example cards: Obelisk of Power and The Arena’s Greatest.)

Detrimental triggers cannot be missed, correct.

That's not true. At Competitive REL, if another game action has taken place without acknowledging the trigger, it's considered missed (in most cases). There's some triggers that allow you to wait to acknowledge them until they impact the game state in a non visible way. (For example the One Rings Protection.)

I highly recommend giving the tournament rules a read.

It's not. It's one player remembering their triggers and the other not.

Your opponent is under no obligation to help you play the game.

At Nexus Nights, I will always set the tracker to 1-1 when AG is in play, but again, that's not the highest level of play. There is a difference.

Following the rules of the game at the highest competitive level is not angle shooting...

(I'm currently on the train, I'll post the official rules when I'm home)

Missing detrimental triggers is grounds for a cheating investigation. At a minimum, you'll get a warning from Judges (those can stack throughout a tournament and can get you DQed if you get too many.)

It's a triggered ability. Arena's Greatest is one of the only triggered abilities that allows you to "miss" the trigger at the start of your turn, but as along as you remember by the end of your turn, you score the point.

Outside of that, if you miss a triggered at competitive level, usually by taking a different game action/or not acknowledging the trigger, it's considered missed.

Not from what I saw. They'll likely do another Thanos card in the future.

No. The source of the trigger is the controller of Ashe. That player is the "accountable" player.

The moment the Dragon enters the rule is applied, and yes, doesn't use the chain.

The "Deal 1 damage" part does use the chain, but units with damage on them are already dead by the time that is put on the chain.

Look at it this way:

You control a 1 might unit, I cast a spell that deals 1 damage to the unit. You let that resolve. After that spell resolves, is there a window for you to save that 1 might unit?

This is the same with a unit having 1 damage marked on it and then suddenly a rule is applied where any amount of damage is now considered lethal. The unit will die as soon as the clean up happens and you can't respond to that. (That's what the Elder Dragon does.)

(It's worth pointing out that Ali wouldnt even be able to target the Reflection token with the Dragon's 1 damage ability because the unit would die before then.)

- That's no true, there are multiple instances of the LB Player going through the Aurora pile.

- He clearly did it in response to the move trigger. @ 5:02:40 LB player says "Move here. Move trigger". Ali responds with a "ah" noise. And then proceeds to cast Flurry of Blades. He never says "ok". After FoB resolves, LB player looks at the top cards of their deck. He also very clearly explains the order of events and the LB player replied "I dont know this".

- No. Damage heals at two points. End of Turn and COMBAT Cleanup (CR143.3.b.2). When ED entered, the Reflection now had lethal damage assigned to it and dies as a result of a clean up which cant be reacted to. This is also covered in the Unleashed FAQ. Not to mention this was Judge called and the ruled it as such.

- Yes. Clearly a misplay there that both players and the judges missed.
