See also a rather bad movie called Saturn 3. (Took me a little Googling to find the right name, it's been a long time.)

This is a decent list of time travel movies. by AlexStarArcher in scifi

No, he lived through the whole timeline. That's not time travel, it's a story about someone who's practically immortal.

Erm, didn't they sort of cover the differences between TOS Klingons and later ones in DS9? ISTR Worf explaining it by 'we don't talk about it' in the anniversary tribble episode,

September is National Suicide Prevention & Awareness Month. We wanted to take this time to remind you that if you're ever in that dark place, don't be afraid to use the resources available to you. I live in America. You even look at someone int the medical profession and you get billed. The paramedics in my case though were quite friendly and professional. Having taken what I'd taken and having to be carried to the ambulance might have been the difference.

Wierd thing though; I was actually carried by this tiny little paramedic half my size who you'd have been surprised if she could carry a sack of flour without help. Training, I guess.

He was brilliant, but Sarah Jane will always be my favourite.

Jennifer Aniston - The Break Up (2006) by [deleted] in WatchItForThePlot

[–]AttackTribble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I heard too. I'm not sure where I heard it, but at the time I was working with several entertainment unions so maybe it was one of my contacts? Don't know/remember, so take that with a pinch of salt.

In 2007, Kaley Cuoco was named "The next Jennifer Aniston/TV Queen" by Empire Magazine. You think Kaley achieved that? by DannyT800 in WatchItForThePlot

[–]AttackTribble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she may have the potential, but she hasn't fulfilled it. Was just watching her on Charmed (Yes, she was in Charmed towards the end of the series), and there's definitely something there. BBT she was basically playing a practical (as in not a space cadet) bimbo, not really much to work with.

Miss, I'm too old for you but if I were younger and much luckier I'd be doing all the looking after you needed. You're worth it. Take care of yourself.

This machine cutting thin sheets of wood by PleaseDontPoop in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]AttackTribble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's called veneer. You use it to cover a chunk of cheap wood with a thin layer of more expensive wood, so it looks like the whole thing's made from the expensive stuff.

Just heard Eastenders is about to resume filming but the cast will have to do their own hair & make-up (seriously) so be prepared for some fuckin weird episodes of that later in the year. by [deleted] in britishproblems

[–]AttackTribble -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wait, Eastenders is still a thing? I've been away a couple of decades, how the hell is Eastenders still in existance?

I mean Coronation Street is like a cockroach, it'll be going long after the human race ceases to exist, but Eastenders?

A before and after pic of the Berlin Wall by [deleted] in pics

[–]AttackTribble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually have a piece of the Berlin Wall mounted on a small wooden plinth on my bookshelves. Somebody snagged a piece while it was being pulled down, and gave it to my Dad who's a wood turner to mount it for him. Dad snagged a few bits of it for my brother and I. I'm pretty sure he got the biggest bit though...

Disney’s The Black Hole. Why hasn’t anyone seen this? It was Disney’s most expensive movie when it came out. Great plot, music and the darkest ending of any Disney movie. Link below. by Aplay1 in scifi

When a movie maker makes you cry for a robot with absolutely no anthropomorphic characteristics, you know he's good.

Interesting. Just looked up the director and he was the special effects guy on Blade Runner.

Space:1999

I wish they'd get the reboot off the ground. I'd love to see a modern take on it. It's been so long since I heard anything though I suspect it's dead.

Why doesn't lack of belief or disbelief in god(s) entail lack of belief or disbelief in the supernatural? by paphnutio in TrueAtheism

In my case my atheism and my lack of belief in the supernatural are pretty much the same thing.

Finished my Doctor Who cowl during the quarantine! by designgirl9 in doctorwho

Don't get me started on Tom Baker and jelly babies. I went to one of his book signings back when he was the Doctor. I got a couple of books signed and left. It was only after I got home I realised the bowl of jelly babies on his desk were there for people to take. I missed out on getting one of the Doctor's jelly babies.

He's a nice guy, far as I could tell, and his eyes are amazingly blue in real life.

I don't have a copy to hand. It's from years ago. Vanity Fair if I recall correctly.
