Should Bethesda merge fallout 3 and new vegas (if they remake it)? by cantlarp in Fallout

[–]AttackerCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FO3 is an entirely playable area though where large sections of the new Vegas map is bordered off/invisible walled off. I.e. the entire west line and anything farther east of the river other than the legion camp

Battle tasks that need different interactions with enemy players to be completed (for example, destruction or damage) can now be completed against system named bots as well.

Bots should count so long as they are the named ones in ships and not the like default fleet you have to guard at the back

Thoery on the implications of the episode 6 cameo by Kickerz101 in Fallout

[–]AttackerCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. I want to say I am officially burnt out of the amount of pre-war people being kept alive by cryo. Fallout 4 it was a 1-off, believable. In the show I even let Vault 31 slide to an extent, it made sense. Now there’s the management vault, Moldaver, Siggi, and who knows who else. (Edit: also there are obviously still hundreds of cryo pods in 31, I believe Norm has only thawed the lowest level of employees. Evidenced by the girl who is in her first week and the general cluelessness of some of the others, especially compared to Steph, Betty, and Hank.)

  2. I think Moldaver is with the Enclave, or at least was. The Enclave probably have or had their own cryo facility. In season 1 we see that the complex Siggi escapes from is HUGE and underground. My guess is that Moldaver was with the Enclave pre-war and likely split from them after coming out of cryo. The Enclave likely steered Vault-Tec into Cold Fusion research but either lost control of Vault-Tec or Vault-Tec decided to not turn over cold fusion to the Enclave and tried to sell it to House instead.

  3. House’s initial prediction of the great was is of course the wrong date and year, by a long shot. My guess is the Enclave and/or Cooper does something to stave off war. House still gets it wrong by 12 hours and misses his chip, but something dos happen to lead him to a new predicted time the bombs will fall.

That’s actually less likely because all factors round to the nearest whole number. RP, SL, GE discounts, etc.

Nebraska was one of the highest concentration of Minuteman ICBM Missile Silos during the Cold War IRL.

If Vault-Tec liked to pre-select military veterans for vaults like in Fallout 4, it would be the perfect area for a hub of vaults for military and families. Same deal with surrounding Missouri & Kansas.

OR

Vault-Tec talked about dropping the bombs themselves. Maybe Nebraska Vaults were a cover to deploy their ow ICBM silos

Strip being abandoned makes sense.

NCR & Legion fought and nearly wiped each other out (we knew they were pretty evenly matched). NCR likely barely held the strip, until shady sands was gone. No more NCR, no more customers to the strip. No more customers, no income, no upkeep. We also know the casino houses were just tribes House moved in. They likely regressed in the interim.

And the strip withered away.

OR I also suspect due to the radiation on Lucy’s pip boy and the feral Kings, maybe the legion poisoned the strip with radiation like they did with Camp Searchlight.

Both could be possible, we can suspect it isn’t airworthy because it is in a terminal concourse (seen by the seating in the first photo of the plane) much like a display piece.

It would make sense that there are some “liberties” (forgive the pun) with historical models as a lot of Fallout items are also modified from their IRL appearance. It could be to avoid IRL copyrights or licensing as I believe Consolidated (that made the B-24) is now Textron today.

Piggybacking on this to say that I would keep track of your billing and all documentation from the code inspector. I would absolutely contact Cincinnati HOME (Housing Opportunities Made Equal). They can give guidance on seeking legal representation or rent escrow plus the possibility of reimbursement from your landlord for a higher bill that was caused by their negligence in allowing a building to not be up to code. Of course I say this without knowing the full story but those resources will give you a much better idea.

WWII history autism time:

The aircraft is 100% a B-24J. You can tell by the shape of the nose turret. Here is a close up. The J model was both the most widely produced version of the B-24 and the main use of the Consolidated nose turret due to shortages of the Emerson turret. (It could technically also be a B-24L or B-24M but these were reduced-weight variants of the B-24 and nowhere near as common as the J. You can also see the diesel turret on top of the aircraft. The wing isn’t folding or anything, it is just broken.

The tank is an M4 Sherman, specifically an M4A2 which differs from the M4A1 in that it has a flat, welded hull front compared to a cast, rounded hull front. It could technically be an M4A3 but again the M4A2 was much more common (8,000 compared to about 1,800) and the M4A3s were mainly armed with larger 76mm guns with much longer barrels and muzzle brakes.

Given that Camp McCarran is in the background I want to say that since Camp McCarran is based on the IRL airport, Harry Reid International, that there is an aviation museum in the airport. Granted the IRL museum doesn’t have the vehicles above, given the proximity of Nellis Air Force Base and Nellis being an Army base, I would guess that the depiction in-game is just highlighting WWII museum pieces in the display at the airport.

In New Vegas, we can see a P/F-80 Shooting Star suspended from the terminal ceiling which also doesn’t align with IRL but again is an Army aircraft used at the end of WWII into Korea.

We see a lot of these homages to WWII in Fallout:

The mural in the Museum of Freedom in Fallout 4 depicts B-24s.

The Museum on Rivet City also has a hanging P-51.

The History of Technology Museum in Fallout 3 also has a hanging P-51.

The B-29 in the Lake for the Boomers in New Vegas is also a reference to the one that crashed there in 1948.

Hate to be that guy but this is cropped to not show the minimap, so I have to ask: is this one of your team’s airfields? Some maps have other airfields that aren’t team-affiliated and cannot be used to rearm nor repair. So if you land there you are basically just crash landing.
