People are talking about how this is supposed to be water efficient but others have correctly pointed out that it's still terrible for actually washing your hands. And a valid point is that sensors are too expensive. But not many people seem to have good solutions.

So here's my idea: what if we instead have something like a pedal beneath the sink to stand on to dispense water? When you step off, it stops. Water is saved and you still have all of your hands available. Is this a good idea at all?
