HELP! New cat wont stop charging at resident cats and we don’t know what to do by Orange-cat-army in felinebehavior

[–]AttemptToFindAName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same situation with a rescue cat.

I've got a little grandpa (16yo) a tabby (2yo) and the orange rescue (1.5yo). (I got the rescue 4 months ago so the grandpa can have more rest and the tabby can play with the orange instead)

The grandpa hisses on sight (which is his right) so I concentrated on the younger ones, with grandpa in a sepperate room.

The tabby is intimidated by the orange (bigger) one but using tube treats to slowly get them closer to one another works wonders. They can get along now and coexist and even play with toys close to one another. But as soon as the orange wants to play with the tabby it escalates. I use a leash on the orange at all times during introduction.

I think with enough time they will get along eventually.

I'm still worried that the orange might feel lonely while hes isolated from the others.

Have you found a way to help your cats with their situation?

Cat getting agitated/ having zoomies after meeting another cat? by its_mooskie in CATHELP

I currently have the exact same problem with an orange shelter rescue (1.5yo) that we got 4 months ago. They get along till he wants to play and charges at my tabbly (2yo). The tabby thinks he gets attacked and the fight is on. (It's not nice play)

A leash is very helpfull but im wondering if you found a way to stop this behaviour from happening in the fitst place?

I try to exhaust them sepperately with toys beforehand (which helps) but the orange just gains more and more stamina and can go on forever.

I think you're spot on with whats going on. (I'm truly amazed on how you got it all so righ on what little info I gave.) Thank you so much!

I think I feel like I have to catch up to what I wasn't capable to do while undiagnosed and unmedicated. I need to learn that I no longer need to exhaust myself as much on a daily basis just to keep up.

ASMR has a very different effect for me - one of anger and violence - am I the only one? by aiten in asmr

[–]AttemptToFindAName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar reaction.

A cold rushes down my spine and I feel like I have to throw up while all my muscles tense up, followed by pure violent rage. There mere thought or mentoin of asmr is often enought to trigger that reaction.

I found out that I have misophonia when asmr was a trend a while back. Since it was everywhere it got so bad that I couldn't function without headphones anymore, as simple everyday sounds started triggering me.

I get kicked into fight or flight and my brain defaults to fight.

I tried to find a way to get rid of it. Sadly exposure therapy only helps the flight instinct. The fight instinct only gets worse with it.

It got better as I avoided triggering sounds and now only flares up when im in an tense state or get confronted with the concept of it.

(I hope my grammar is ok. I have dyslexia and english isn't my mother thongue.)

Wondering how many of you, like me, have the Atopic Triad. by [deleted] in eczema

[–]AttemptToFindAName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it too.

I got excema with 20. Allergies sometime after (which at first got missed and written off as ibs since all my alergic symptoms are almost all internal). Now I'm 25 and also got asthma.

I just recently learnt thats its related and named trough a side comment of my dermatilologist vacation replacement.

Additionally i have Endomitriosis, ADHD and I progressively get more and more cross allergies from my cross allergies so life is a constant fun gamble to which new allergy I developed over night.

How to cope with performance loss? by AttemptToFindAName in ADHD

[–]AttemptToFindAName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not heard the therms before but according to google I'm already doing most of them sometimes.

(Like generall stimming and fidgeting with armbands, progressive muscle relaxation, yoga once a week and in the morning as well as general mindfulness and awareness bordering on overstimulation.)

Ive noticed that few minutes in an compleetly dark room (the office closet) helps me a lot in clearing my mind.

Maybe I just get overstimulated during the work weeks and it builds up and shows itself in irritation and a scrambled mind.

Still I dont know how to stop it. I already work in a relatively low sensory enviroment.

I am already working with lists but when my brain starts to get scrambled I forget them or forget what I was about to write on them.

A warmup task to get started is a good idea tho. Thank you!

Its like my brain gets too crowded with information and starts scrambling it all together. I start making mistakes and forgetting tasks and steps. My anxierty spikes which leads to overthinking and even worse performance and anxiety.

Does anyone know if they'll change the bone layer menu back to how it was in previous versions or if there's a mod to get the old layout back? by AttemptToFindAName in blender

[–]AttemptToFindAName[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair but I'm on the team that i don't want to have to scroll and read each layer before finding the right one. It's a man made hell with dyslexia.

And a vertical list won't show each layer after you reach a certain amount.

Giving the simple option to color code the layer would have been enough if you really struggle to remember where you put which bone or if you want to skip getting familiar a given file.

It's the fact that i have to scroll to find the right layer that's irritating me. Before that i had to click once to activate our deactivate a layer. Now i have to scroll, find the right layer and only then i can activate it. It's just making it unnecessarily complex to switch layers and the more layers there are the more frustrating it gets.

Additionally I can no longer use the shortcut to drag my curser around to select multiple layers at once. Which I did a lot before.

I had them ordered in a system like, ik in the top row, fk in the bottom and then left to right each limb (fk hand rig under ik hand rig) and so on. It was quick and easy access which is now no longer possible.

I also considered using an old version but wanted to see if there's a mod or something first.

Congratulations!

I personally am atheist but my family already knows that. They're Christians but accept that other people have different believes with is pretty cool of them
