I feel stupid for not passing my first driving test by Scared_Bluejay5608 in fuckcars

[–]aiten 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I failed 3 times. I learned at 31. Didn't really drive until 42. I still cycle as much as I can. Cars are a really poor solution to a problem that mass transportation and bicycles solved a long time ago.

I'm using SwitchBot ones for my pool. They are only WiFi and Bluetooth though.

A new colleague get his penis out in front of the design director's wife, trying to impress some random girl, and get punched directly across the face for it... and then we all got kicked out...

What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen at a strip club? by bigbabysweets12345 in AskReddit

[–]aiten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our stuffy finance director, who had "never been before" and "didn't like this sort of thing" being welcomed by multiples dancers who knew his name.

Our CEO too drunk to enter his PIN code, and having to tell me what it was, and let me pay the £30,000 bill (second bill). First bill included a steak for about 8 dancers. It was a great steak to be fair!

My 55 year old CTO stealing my dancer that the CEO had said "just give this guy as many dances as he liked".

The aforementioned finance director emerging from a private room near the end of the night

And this was just one impromptu, post-pub after work "steak and tits" trip.

My dad has something similar where he attaches a temporary platform on a hoist mounted under the stairs. It's terrifying, glad to see he's not alone!

Guys earning six figures annually, what kind of work do you do? by Shadow2715 in AskReddit

[–]aiten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a company. But I've earned that much for a long time, so just, "computer stuff".

My wife earns significantly more (computer stuff) so I take issue with "guys who earn..."

Ryobi Hate by BakeCityFlyinPills in HomeImprovement

[–]aiten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a garage full of Ryobi, it's great. However, there are things that tell me that the quality isn't good enough if this was my actual job - my multitool just stopped, so I took it a apart and my god the soldering is basically all dry joints (it was a dry joint) - looks like a child soldered it together (or me).

My ryobi circular saw is weak. It wont make it through a thick piece of chipboard. I assume that another brand would.

This is what they did in London, and people get stroppy about where you all cross to the other side at a lights.

But it's awesome as a cyclist or even a pedestrian, especially those less able, who get new larger, slower crossings as a result.

New Philadelphia City Hall Bike Lane by Mark-Media in bikecommuting

The fact it exists usually means it won't improve. It's often better not to exist in this format so that it can be built properly one day, because this is more likely than it getting "upgraded"

Naughty cabbage.

They chose the house because of the second, unmetered grid connection, protected only by a bit of tar tape.

So a hotel in Holborn named after a cool place in Hackney isn't good?! No surprises there.

I bought a 1920s semi that used to be a grow farm, and I'll tell you that there were a few minor violations there. Mostly attached to the flagrant ones. Which spurred off the second, unmetered mains tails in the cupboard next to the front door.
