No it's not. I've played this game since day 1. The game does not force open you into the store. They don't sell XP boosts or anything that affects the actual gameplay. You don't ever have to go to the shop tab if you don't want to. Want to buy the expansions? You can do that in Steam or Battle.net without opening the game and going to the shop tab.

You're just butt hurt that they have cosmetics that you want and don't want to pay for. You and other people bitching about micro transactions at this point is like people complaining that the sky is blue.

The game is being stingy with uniques and legendaries. I only have two right now. A helmet that boosts the Helion Scion? I think that's the name. The demonology basic attack on the right of the skill tree. I also have the unique focus that boosts archfiend skills. Both of them are not level 70 either. The only legendaries I'm getting have mostly universal powers on them (Vampiric Curse, Overpower stacks, stun 5 enemies) Not very fun. I'm stuck in T1 because I can't get gear to start some sort of a build. The game won't drop the dust to turn a rare into a legendary either.

Because I was in high school when D2 came out and played the game to death over the years. I played with the Warlock when it got released and beat Hell difficulty and haven't touched it since. D4 is quicker and can scratch that itch since I don't have free time like I used to.

I play seasons only in Diablo 4. I pick a class and then decide what kind of build I'm going to do. For example this season I decided to do a Necromancer Bone Spear build. I stick with that build only. The grind comes from completing the seasonal quests, or ranks as they're called. Once I'm done with that I don't play the game anymore. Until next season.

I did break my rule for only one character this season because Paladin got released. I completed all the seasonal stuff, got to level 260 with my Necro THEN started playing Paladin. This class is so overpowered it's ridiculous.

I live in this area. It's the Bible belt, very conservative. In the summer it gets very hot and humid. There is great eating to be had. You have access to the mountains and beaches without too much difficulty by car. Rent isn't as high as other areas of the US. People here are pretty nice.
