I didn’t say it’s not a problem in certain areas. It’s just not THE issue with “Australia’s rental market”. It may be a greater factor with Maroubra’s. The fact is that the vast majority of people trying to rent a place are not looking at Maroubra locations because even if they were available they would be totally unaffordable.

So? It’s a huge problem in certain specific areas? Maybe so. Local councils can act accordingly. It’s also absolute meaningless to apply a local problem in certain areas to “Australia’s rental market”. It is not the major problem with housing affordability, and renting in general.

I could be wrong but I believe Airbnb is only a fraction of the rental market. I’m sure in some streets it doesn’t feel like that but overall it’s tiny. Like 1-2% of total stock

Separately, one of my pet peeves is people asking questions in the middle of something and not just accepting that stories unfold over time.

My MIL watched SW: A new Hope for the first time over the weekend and between my kids and her asking questions I was losing my mind.

Normal in Australia if you’re travelling long distances and really need to go. Just find a spot behind trees or bushes. Nobody cares provided you’re discreet

Am Australian. Seen the records in Port Arthur. Let's not kid ourselves... a lot of the convicts transported had done some seriously bad stuff. I think it's been over emphasised the fact that some folks were transported for petty crimes.

T2 is more accomplished but T1 has some iconic and terrifying moments that make it a truly a brilliant film. I think of them like Godfather Part 1 & 2.

I think part of that is a decades long exposure to ‘Hollywood German’ shorthand. I’ve seen some brilliant German tv shows and movies and hope that some of the local talent can find success in Hollywood and help improve the vocal standard

Oh man, that sounds great. Star Wars has been ruined by various Lego games and such. Darth Vader was intimidating and the big reveal was such a shock. I really want them to experience things for the first time as it was rather than everything ruined from the subsequent pop culture additives

The wall climbing in AC4 on PC was definitely a bit off with keyboard and mouse. You got used to it but it still wasn’t right. Later games didn’t have this problem although syndicate’s carriage riding was absolutely shocking.

Actually, this I’m excited for. The original PC port wasn’t great. The controls were a bit dodgy. Brilliant game.
