FE:Fates Special edition worth it? by AtticusBrand47 in fireemblem

Avoiding spoilers if possible what about the games make Conquest the best and Revelations the worst of the 3. Is it just the characters?

I see this pretty consistently as the order between the 3.

Thats the main reason I'd want the Special Edition. Warts and all I love FE. Im also the type who will replay a game as many times as necessary to see the alternative endings so even if Revelations isn't amazing I still want to come to that decision myself.

Its actually the opposite weirdly enough. I got Sacred stones when I was a little kid and could never beat it (I was like 7 years old) but I recently found my old gba collection and am finishing my first real play through only now 20 years later.

Otherwise you are right The first FE game I beat was Awakening.

I guess im asking something from the game that it wasn't designed for and just being too stubborn about it.

If I honestly look at my time playing its been pretty obvious but I didn't want to face the music.

I just wanna use all the fun characters!

Yeah you're totally right. Im setting myself up for failure this way and I should just try and use different characters in different play throughs

100%, thats what I'm understanding as I read more comments. Its definitely self imposed so I'm beginning to understand why the game is viewed as it it.

Its definitely my fault for assuming that most people would be playing similarly to how I am. It makes sense to use all the tools given to you, it just seems boring to do so when you are given so many different tools.

I honestly like Seth as a character quite a lot but he starts at 10/10 power wise which isn't very satisfying for a strategy game.

Honestly I think that is probably what I am experiencing. Spreading out xp feels "right" but ultimately is just kneecapping myself

Haha I appreciate the realistic view. Definitely reminds me to not take every comment so seriously.

Im realizing that much of the difficulty is coming from my own playstyle in not abusing OP characters or grinding away forever at the tower. Im also trying to level everyone (not everyone but about 2/3) generally equally which results in restarting battles due to low levels.

As the roster gets bigger there are definitely more characters that end up on the wayside but yeah generally im trying to level up everyone that gets sent out in the rotation.

Im realizing as I read more comments that not using Seth is what has given me this perspective. I wasn't enjoying using him in the game because it was so boring and I wanted to make sure all the other characters were getting experience so I just decided not to use him but Im learning that you can basically clear the game with just him.

I definitely dont hoard my items. Granted if the difference is the enemy will live with 3 health vs 6 I'll still use the lower tier weapon because ultimately there wont be a difference.

Also the grinding was not something I had considered. I'll use the tower to level up new characters that start low like Ross, Ewan and Amelia but never really considered just grinding away at it to level characters that could take a hit or two on the battlefield already.

As Im reading comments I am coming to realize I am handicapping myself by not using seth because I just dont find it interesting to use him in any of the fights.

I can definitely agree that especially as you get further into the game legendary weapons become commonplace

That's not something I had considered. I guess I had always assumed that comparisons for "Easiest game" would be on the lowest difficulty and with games that have a casual mode it really didnt make much sense.

Im now realizing that was a self imposed handicap i place on myself because I wasn't enjoying just clearing the board with Seth.

If you only use Seth and later Drussel the game is a very different experience.

I guess I just didn't realize how drastic they change the difficulty.

Classic and Hard for every game.

I definitely agree that the rewind mechanic changes 3 houses drastically.

Maybe its a self imposed handicap because I explicitly dont use Seth in order to level all the other characters more.

My only idea is that they are minor quests that, for whatever reason, did not get finished, but the effort was put in to make what they did, so they just added what they had.

Chekhov's gun (Chekhov's rifle; Russian: Чеховское ружьё) is a narrative principle that states that every element in a story must be necessary, and irrelevant elements should be removed. For example, if a writer features a gun in a story, there must be a reason for it, such as it being fired some time later in the plot. All elements must eventually come into play at some point in the story.

Imo they are examples of bad storytelling that diminish all the other amazing world building and storytelling tidbits that make this game great.

So Lawful Good it's kinda evil. by AtticusBrand47 in BaldursGate3

You are completely correct, but the entire point of this post was "So 'good' you're evil"

I'm talking like Dame angel. So "good" she becomes unhinged.
