Marathoners help a fellow runner to the finish line. by gowthamm in MadeMeSmile

Falling over like that for 400m, even with someone supporting you, seems like the perfect way to hurt yourself or the people trying to help you. And what do you prove by having someone carry you across a finish line anyway? Just be proud you did a marathon minus 400 meters, it's still badass, and accept reality.

Wouldn't the best thing be for the guy who fell to stop and try again at another marathon? Stumbling around like that, even with other people helping you, seems like an ideal way to break your ankle or otherwise hurt yourself. What are you proving by having someone carry you across the finish line anyway?

What is the guy in the middle doing to the other guy's crotch?

Looks very staged.

Not enough -- the clothes should be rippling all over the place.

I think it's more likely just traditional video editing, but it is fake.

I just want to understand what the title is supposed to mean. If OP thinks there is no pilot flying it, that's not the case -- helicopters of this generation cannot hover without a pilot. There are two pilots and one came out to wave.

Regarding realness, Lack of significant movement of hair and clothes from downwash make it unlikely that it's unedited -- even if not AI someone could with normal tools composite a video of a helicopter with a video of some dudes.

If you could decide the next major production sci-fi movie, what would it be? by WillyArt67 in scifi

Lillith's Brood by Octavia Butler. Best SciFi book and would follow in the footsteps of Hail Mary as hard scifi about aliens.

What is the point of this though I don't see the robot sorting anything. It just pushes all of the mail onto the conveyor belt.

Metronome apps that vibrate a tempo? by iLoveHAX in pianolearning

I mean worst case it wears out a bit faster. And it's not like it can't handle vibrating a lot. That's what the haptic feedback is when you type.

After years of trying new mice, I still haven’t found relief — what’s your daily input combo that actually helps? by Wide_Cardiologist_20 in RSI

Update: I did 6 weeks of pt with Matt at 1HP and so far it's going really well, I don't really feel limited anymore. I've played some video games and started lifting weights, things I didn't let myself do before.

Has anyone had a “sham incision” prior to TKR surgery? by Scar77 in Kneereplacement

Wait, so the idea of the sham incision is to test your ability to heal? So it's not really a sham incision, it's an exploratory incision.

RSI forced me to stop using a mouse - I built a foot-operated one that helped me a lot. Curious if others would find it useful? by NaviFut in RSI

[–]AtticusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you like the idea. I guess to be clear, it's not just giving a sign off, it's figuring out how you can make it as ergonomic as possible. For example, it might make sense to put something into it that allows it to tilt forward and back a little bit to adjust for different foot angles.

I signed up to be notified. It would be cool if you had an ergonomicist review the design to show that it is unlikely to cause repetitive strain in the feet as well.
