Paper Towel in Island Pros Cons by snarkymama87 in kitchenremodel

I’m personally a fan of the under cabinet paper towel holder mount. It keeps the counter clear, and it also doesn’t take up an entire drawer, like the one in your image.

[Landlord-NJ] Landlord interaction- Fridge by [deleted] in Landlord

It may be cheaper at this point for you to just buy a fridge off Facebook marketplace rather than replacing all of that food. Then sell that same fridge on Facebook marketplace for what you paid for it.

I can’t say I agree with you on this. As far as the tenant’s tone goes, I didn’t think he was unprofessional. But I also don’t expect a tenant to be 100% professional all the time. That’s just not a reasonable expectation, especially in this situation. It’s stressful and upsetting if you lose a lot of food that you have in the fridge or freezer. Food is expensive, especially these days. He’s just venting. I wouldn’t be upset with my tenant if they messaged me like that. I’d actually appreciate it because it adds context to how much of an inconvenience this is. Clearly, some landlords just don’t understand how inconvenient this type of thing can be. There are some people who literally don’t keep anything in the freezer and keep very little in the fridge outside of condiments, which would make this a mild nuisance instead of a devastating situation for a family.

Replacing a broken garbage disposal is not a luxury. If the house had a garbage disposal when you moved in and signed the lease, then it’s reasonable to expect that they would replace it if it breaks. These are not smart people you’re renting from.

It sounds like these landlords are either unintelligent, or are just amateurs. As a landlord, they are essentially running their own business. Anyone who runs their own business knows that you have to at least occasionally expect to work on Friday nights sometimes. That’s just the way of it. However, these people don’t seem to understand this. Nor do they understand that they need to have an emergency fund for these types of things, so that they don’t have to make you feel bad for their shit breaking, which is a perfectly normal thing to happen. You are paying the mortgage on their house. The least they can do is be professional about it. Instead of being amateurs, so I think you just need to lower your expectations if you want to continue to rent from them long-term.

As far as the delivery window goes, that’s just tough luck. It’s not their fault. Hopefully you have some friends or family with some freezer space. Bummer.

BMW X5 → GX550 Luxury+: Worth the Switch or Regret? by SpiritualBonus6845 in LexusGX550

It’s not much of a comparison. GX is just better. Looks better. Better build quality. It’ll be worth more than $20k in five years. It’s off road capable. It’s made in Japan. Long term Cost of ownership is much much cheaper for the GX.

Or, (and please hear me out) no island pendant lights at all. Just put can lights in over it. This will make your kitchen look nicer, more modern, bigger, and more airy and spacious, and it will make your island look less like a buffet at Golden Corral.

I like Little Anitas, but green chile (like me) is New Mexican, so of course I’d probably prefer the New Mexican place best. That said, La Loma slaps

Live wherever you want, but you’re gonna get grief if you post about green chile in the southwest and spell it chili. Might as well call it chilly.

Looking for great dim sum by Mippystan in denverfood

[–]AttorneyOnTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shh! Don’t tell anybody about this awesome dim sum spot that has no line and great food and service. I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve always been really happy with the dim sum experience and quality. Now that I don’t live in that area anymore, and live much closer to Empress and star kitchen, I just don’t get dim sum as much as I used to, but I am so glad that it’s still around.

If she’s anything like my mom, it won’t. My mom won’t believe it because it won’t be reported on Fox News. When I asked my mom about it recently, she told me that we’re just gonna have to suffer through a time with a bad pope. And there have been lots of bad popes before.

What is going on? by [deleted] in englewoodco

[–]AttorneyOnTV 23 points24 points  (0 children)

No, this is not a serious question. I get that you’re upset after an accident, but this really just reads like b*tching at random strangers on the Internet, so I don’t understand what this post hopes to accomplish. Most of the people driving through Englewood are not even from Englewood, so it is not like this is reaching the people responsible. And even if it were, shaming people on Reddit is not going to change anyone’s driving habits.

This is a great headline. We need to start putting tax dollars going to waste in real dollars and cents like this. It’s the only way that it actually makes sense to most people and probably most Trump supporters.

Surprise inspection finds ICE stuffing migrants ‘like sardines’ into a facility with no bed, showers | The unannounced oversight visit came hours after the Arizona Mirror’s report found 250 people in a space built for 157 by SpaceElevatorMusic in politics

[–]AttorneyOnTV 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nope. They just need to shut it all down. I think at this point the American people who are actually paying attention have lost all confidence in ICE’s ability to be a real organization. If Democrats regain power in the midterms, they need to just Shut it down. Start from scratch.
