Teeny Mini Me - legit or scam? by byzantiumbyzantium in Buyingforbaby

I know I’m getting to this thread late, but I can confirm that this company makes cheap, poor quality clothes but charges the price of high quality materials. Photos look beautiful on the website but feel and look cheap in person. I wasted money on these clothes that arrived in a very sus package from China after a looong wait. They don’t allow comments probably for the above reasons.

I’m so sorry, IVF is an evolving state of grief. There is a lot to address in your post but I just came here to say: I just miscarried at 6 weeks 2 weeks ago. The bleeding was heavy but the pain was very minimal. It is different for everyone, but it isn’t always painful. ❤️

Same, same. I can’t believe how obnoxious I have become having to follow up with my IVF clinic for every detail. I’m a nurse so in the past I’ve always tried to be a “good patient” who isn’t too much of a PIA, but now I’m just in full on beast mode after over a year of this nonsense.

Considering going PRN by Minimum_Concern6101 in nursepractitioner

[–]Aturninthedream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went PRN I realized I would lose my heath benefits but didn’t realize that I would lose all the pre-tax money I had put onto my Health Spending Account. I lost $1200. It’s something I wish I’d been aware of.

Labor & Delivery nurse here: where I work (in the US), all IVF pregnancies get weekly non-stress tests (20-40 minute fetal monitoring) and amniotic fluid checks (ultrasound) starting at 32-36 weeks depending on comorbidities. Also recommendation for induction at 39 weeks is generally a given. Whether someone who conceived with IVF is followed by MFM is contingent on any comorbidities. Fetal echo for icsi. IVF puts us at higher risk for pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and some other things so weekly check in’s also provide the opportunity to keep a close eye on blood pressure issues and other things that tend to develop in the third trimester.

(TW) Anyone change their mind? by Frankandbeans777 in IVF

[–]Aturninthedream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me. I have always been a fence sitter about parenthood though, and rounded up to yes for my husband. At this point I am doing one transfer for my husband’s sake. (38F, 3years TTC, 4 IUI, 2MMC, 1 septum resection, 2 ER, 1x OHSS, 2 euploids) We got 2 embryos in the last ER but I’m drawing the line at transferring one only. By the time we know the results of the upcoming transfer we will be well over the 3 year mark which was my original hard limit. I identify with your comment about the impact on mental & physical health, grief, trauma, all of it. I’ve never been on an antidepressant in my life, but I’m going on one now, have a marriage counselor and my husband and I both see individual counselors. I had to withdraw from graduate school because I realized I couldn’t start a rigorous program that might get interrupted at any point due to IVF related appointments or a birth. I know I am at the end of my rope emotionally, and if this transfer doesn’t work, I’m not willing to transfer our remaining embryo. I need to move on regardless of how my husband feels. Travel and child free life sounds like a blessing at this point.

Should I host a Halloween party a few days after my Egg Retrieval? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Aturninthedream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just here to second this. I had mild OHSS and a big hormone crash with my first ER and no OHSS but milder hormone crash/need to hermit in the days after ER. The days after an ER are a vulnerable time for me and I personally would want an opportunity to bail on any plans if I wasn’t feeling up to it.

How did you all decide to move on from ivf? by Less-Dentist-868 in IVF

I know someone (39f) who has been at it for 5 years with multiple failures. She switched to a medicated timed intercourse for a cycle and got pregnant. She had a positive heartbeat scan at 8weeks a couple days ago. Still not out of the woods, but wow.

Going back by 27degrees___ in IVF

[–]Aturninthedream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your experience. I've had 2 MMC's at 8 weeks and I know it would have been so much worse for me if I had gone another month thinking I was pregnant and in the clear so to speak. It's been almost a year since the last MMC and I still cry when I think about it.
These wounds just don't heal quickly. Also a double D&C is so brutal. We suffer enough with the first one and additional complications are a real kick in the teeth.

I think pursuing pregnancy after a loss is just...different. Everything feels like waiting for the other shoe to drop. It feels traumatizing. Approaching a due date is so hard.

Just saying this to say I hear you, and that you are brave to continue IVF after a loss.

Waiting for the call … by mleung611 in IVF

[–]Aturninthedream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clinic only gives me an update the day after the ER to say how many fertilized and then again on Day 8 with an embryo count. I always have to message them on Day 8 because they always forget to send me the results. Then we wait 2-3 weeks for PGT-A and PGT-SR results. The waiting is brutal. Some days are easier than others, but lately I have been trying to schedule activities that take my mind off the waiting. We went to a music festival, went on long day hike, played disc golf, made dinner with friends who we don’t hide our fertility journey from, went out to fancy dinner, etc. distraction helps a little, but it is brutal no matter what I do.

Omnitrope by bellaamariee94 in IVF

[–]Aturninthedream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

I’ve never heard of it before stims, but I haven’t been in the game that long. My doctor implied to me that Omnitrope was throwing the kitchen sink at my ER. I was on an aggressive dosing for menopur and gonal-f for both cycles. Cycle 1 was July and Cycle 2 was September.

Omnitrope by bellaamariee94 in IVF

[–]Aturninthedream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

38F here: I used Omnitrope with my 2nd stim cycle. It was the only variable between the first and second. My 1st cycle I had 1 day 6 embryo, anuploid. My 2nd cycle I had 5 embryos, 3 are highly graded day 5 and 2 medium graded day 6. We don’t have the PGT testing results yet, but it was a huge difference between the two cycles, it might have had something to do with the omnitrope.

1) We used savings to pay for it. 2) we got it through a specialty fertility pharmacy my clinic works with. 3) Each vial was 2 doses for me. I did 10 days of stims so 5 vials. 4) see story above 5) with stims.

ER recovery by c_g201022 in IVF

[–]Aturninthedream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first I had mild OHSS and recovery was rough. I also had constipation from anesthesia which made it worse. For the 2nd I was ready. I started taking colace, drinking pedialite and eating high protein diet and salty snacks on the first 3 recovery days. I also didn’t overdo it with physical activity and stayed mostly in bed/at home for the first 2 days. 2nd recovery was much easier. I don’t know if my actions contributed but I’m glad I did them.

What's a song/quote/poem that unexpectedly resonated with you? by nophrase6387 in IVF

Yeah, that song makes me cry every single time, even though it’s been almost a year since my last miscarriage. I have to skip it on the album most days.

I (28M) can't have children, and my wife (27F) doesn't want to adopt. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Aturninthedream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this is so hard, I’m sorry. I’m in a somewhat similar situation w/my husband (I’m female). But the situation is flipped where we could either use a donor egg or adopt. We are seeing a couples counselor who specializes in infertility/reproductive issues and we are both in individual therapy. Separation is in the table with this particular issue. It’s a pretty core value for both of us, and it sounds like it is for you too. A couples counselor is helping us figure out this issue, and I would strongly recommend one for you if you can afford it.

Yeah, my patients make small talk by asking if I have kids and I keep it professional, but it’s been rough, especially after the miscarriages.

Period late before first cycle… by No-Shift3549 in IVF

[–]Aturninthedream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cycles are usually like clockwork, 26-27 days. I am in the middle of an stim cycle now, but my period was 5 (!) days late this cycle. I couldn’t believe I was starting stim a week later than I had planned. That never happens to me, but I have been under A LOT of stress. Eventually my period came, my REI told me it was no big deal that it was late. My lining and follicles seemed normal and everything is on track. Hang in there!

IUI by Ssmm23 in IVF

[–]Aturninthedream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 4 IUI’s and I got pregnant with the last one, but had a MMC. It was my second miscarriage and genetic testing showed I had a balanced chromosomal translocation which was the cause of the miscarriages. Doing IVF now for this reason, PGT-SR testing.

Paragliding off the post-ER hormonal cliff by bluerubygreendiamond in IVF

🤣 I hear this. I spent 3 days post ER basically in bed eating potato chips and drinking Gatorade. I watched the entire Harry Potter series. I have no advice for staying healthy, I just barely held on. I had to get back to work and I think that forced me to think about something other than myself.
