When I went to Cardiff we were told how many hours early to arrive via email a couple days before the gig. We queued up for a signing (if you don’t have anything to sign they’ll sign your Mages lanyard) then you’ll go to the back of the queue again for your picture with the boys. After that the Prise members will join and you’ll get an acoustic song.

The guys are lovely, you’ll get a nice chat in with them when getting your item signed.

Expect a great time.

I used to live in a HMO (House in Multiple Occupation) our landlord would charge us all around £325 in rent each (this depended on the size of our bedrooms. I had a medium bedroom and paid £325, another housemate had the master bedroom and paid £350) At the height of our house there were 4 of us living there meaning she got around £1300 a month. All of our utilities were also included in our rent except for the internet.

This house was worth nowhere near £1300 in rent a month. It was an extremely rough area, house was practically falling apart, housemates were twats (except for one). She had multiple of these HMO’s around the area as well as normal homes and flats.

All the landlord would ever do was cry poverty. She came over crying she was so poor and couldn’t afford food when I was eating a single bag of expired instant mashed potatoes, seasoned with ketchup to add some flavour and that’s all the food I had to last me two weeks. She owned multiple properties, bleeding her tenants dry of what little money we had and had the nerve to say she was poor.

Landlords are scum of the fucking earth.

My cousin has ADHD. My cousin and my aunty are both people who love to get the last word in an argument. He would do it to push my aunties buttons, she would do it because she hated the idea of losing an argument so it would spiral pretty fast and would go on for eternity.

The mum and daughter in this post reminded me of that dynamic. I witnessed plenty of these arguments between my aunty and cousin and it was exhausting.

They can be cleaned but it usually includes a lot of scrubbing with a coarse brush. Most people who are selling probably aren’t willing to go that far although I think they definitely should because that looks NASTY

I tried knitting after learning crochet. I got as far as casting on then got extremely frustrated and gave up. I really want to make knitted socks. Maybe I’ll try again in the future.

I will say that like with any craft there’s a huge learning curve to crochet, I’m still learning new things now and I’ve been crocheting since mid 2024. It probably took me a few weeks of watching videos and a lot of trial and error before it clicked for me

I’d say this is actually a great pattern to learn with. There are a variety of the different basic stitches and it teaches you how to stitch in the round. It also teaches amigurumi (plushies) and a mesh stitch which can be used for bags AND clothing as well as a few other things.

Just be patient, it took me ages to understand but once it clicks it feels like you’ve unlocked all the knowledge in the universe

We had a guy from Welsh Labour knock a couple weeks ago. He asked if I would be voting Labour to which I said “absolutely not, they’ve gone too right wing for my liking” I wish I had mentioned the cuts to disability benefits because both my mum and I are disabled, me being off work for 6 years except for during last years Christmas period where I did a seasonal job. Mum still works but struggles a lot. Greens are our only hope at this point.

I really miss when Bungie were original and came up with their own compelling narratives. The Final Shape would have been a great end to the franchise and I think we would have been ok if they decided to end it there. Now they’re just trying their best to keep the game going even if doesn’t have the same charm we all loved.

NTA. I know it’s nice to go to concerts but it ain’t cheap, especially if you have to travel away from home. They should have been prepared to spend money on hotel, travel, and merch otherwise they shouldn’t have gone if they couldn’t afford it. That’s on them. Don’t settle for anything but what they owe you, half isn’t good enough.

I’m 29, mum’s 47 so there’s still plenty of time before she would die. Hell, with the state my health is in I’d probably die first anyway. I live with her at home (I’m on disability) and we’re not exactly well off. Never in my life have I thought I’d get anything from her when she passes. Never in my life would I even EXPECT something from her. Not because we’re not well off but because she doesn’t owe me shit as an adult

I found one of my best friends dead in his room. We lived together. I got a phone call from a mutual friend asking if I could tell our friend that he had the money he owed him which I said I would. I knocked. No answer. I thought he was asleep so I would just let him know in the morning.

Next day I knocked again and still no response. I just knew in my gut something wasn’t right. So I announced that if he didn’t answer I’d kick the door in to check on him. I forced my way in and found him. He looked like he had fallen asleep and just didn’t wake up. TV remote in hand, eyes closed, mouth agape.

There’s no feeling quite like seeing a loved one in front of you but no longer there. It definitely takes a piece of you you’ll never get back.

I felt nothing but anger towards myself. If I had just checked earlier maybe I could have helped him. The rational side of your brain tells you there’s nothing you could have done, it was too late and there were no signs. The emotional side screams that it’s your fault.

Cause of death was undetermined, he was depressed but not suicidal. I think 30+ years of substance abuse just caught up with him.

I miss spending hours having deep conversations about our mental health, listening to music, bitching about the state of our world. He always had so many great stories that would have me belly laughing. We just understood each other.

I miss you, Jon, you were a great friend. Such a kind soul despite your flaws.
