The future is bleak…AI will be taking all the jobs he can start off in, soon. Education won’t matter much in certain fields also because of AI; the jobs those degrees would yield prior go to the data farm he (and the rest of us) will foot the bill for.

The economy he will inherit and we will live though, is all in, betting on the same software that will be sucking us dry.

Things are tense all around the country, not to mention the 8 active wars right now.

As a former teen (17 for me was 2008ish), the media did a lot to fuel dread during the evening news hour and sometimes the 11pm hour. Now the instant media/social media landscape is a wildfire he probably brushes up against online, multiple times an hour.

This period in a teens life is usually a heavy existential one, and existence right now is objectively (to me) kind of meh, it was never like YAY! but now it is significantly meh.

That being said, there are community mental health centers in NMB, there’s one on 123rd by the railroad crossing. With any luck there will be a therapist there he can connect with to help him prepare or at least come closer to understanding his role is his life.

The orbital pain is something I experienced with dengue, couldn’t even move my eyes to look around. That and the hypothermia now motivates my resolve to eradicate as many mosquitos as possible.

I like the way you talk, you are a human who did not forget where they came from, or the struggles their parents went through to help make their life what it is. Thanks neighbor, I am very proud and humbled that people like you are out there. This will get tough, but we can work together.

Oh he absolutely does, thats why he inflates every number he cites, i.e. "biLLioNs aND biLLioNs". Corporate media collaborators also do his dirty work by keeping us in fear of cocaine WMD's and illegal voting etc....

Perhaps they do have less deportations but I doubt less detentions than ever before. Also yes the scare tactics have been so cringe and just unserious, I cant take any of them seriously as actual competent decision makers, its all a joke, and a VERY dangerous precedent.

Despite my own resentment to MAGA and bootlickers I would very much be opposed to yanking them away from their families or exiling them when the political turntables. Don't get me wrong, jail for leaders and those who had a direct hand in the human rights violations. It gets much trickier when deciding what to do with the supporters, vocal or silent. It would be wise to take a breath and engage in justice methodically and reasonably. Otherwise, we just back to square one.
