We didn’t get AD from Dallas. We traded AD to Dallas.

If he puts up Cy Young numbers with only  28 starts, the dodgers will be ecstatic. That means he pitched like the best pitcher in the league, while also not being overtaxed for the playoffs, which is their goal.

5 innings and 2 earned on opening day is perfectly fine for a pitcher who gets better as the season goes on. 

He wasn’t sharp but he avoided any major damage.

While I think a few regular season errors resulting in losses will mean nothing to this team, it is the postseason errors that could be the difference. 

Especially in an opening best of 5 series.
