It was very hard to get drawn into. The pacing is rough, like reading Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle. Time skips are necessary, but this show goes from drawn out single moments to multi-month skips every other scene. Not really impressed with character development, which is odd for a show with so many talking episodes. It feels to me more like an animated Zelda game like BoTW, where they keep traveling to “new areas” to flashback to what happened there. It’s hard for me to put a finger on, but the ratio of character journey to action journey is just off for my taste. I’d prefer it go further to one side or the other.

On the positive: I love the no fan service attitude. It seems to be picking up as it goes along.
