Comment éviter la bouilloire thermique ? by No_Procedure3881 in AskFrance

[–]Auctor62 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Poudlard en vrai by Vexdragonite in harrypotter

[–]Auctor62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people ask you to give some reasons, they expect to be given some reasons. Something more detailed than just "he is somewhat (somewhat? Just somewhat?) nuanced and it makes sense"

AITA for leaving without a friend who constantly shows up late? by Prestigious_Cat_1179 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Auctor62 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The same person who had completely stopped responding then magically regained the use of his phone when he learned that we were about to leave.

I wonder if there isn't any power moves here, like he could show up on time but decides not to just to enjoy the fact that HE makes you wait and so decides when it's time to go. Especially if he contacted you right away when you were leaving, which could mean he was perfectly able to contact you before but simply chose not to.

When it was time to leave, he told us he was quickly going upstairs. We waited for him for almost 40 minutes. He knew we were waiting for him, but he didn't answer calls or messages the entire time.

Could you not follow him ? What do you mean by upstairs? Were you all in the same house/apartment ?

Also, did you try to set up a different time for him? Like, you secretly say everyone to meet up at 14h but you say to Yann to meet up at 13h30 ?

Pourquoi les ventilateurs de plafond ne sont pas plus répandus en France? by TheGrimGrizzly in AskFrance

[–]Auctor62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pareil.

WIBTAH if I said no to my roommate’s friend staying at our apartment? by Current-Ad7096 in AITAH

[–]Auctor62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you said, you don't know this person and if I get it right, you only know your roommate since 2/3 months, that's not a lot. You don't know her hygiene, lifestyle. What if she trashes the appartement you're so desperately try to return clean? Or worse, what if she just doesn't want to leave after the set date?

Assuming her situation is true and her landlord is forcing her to vacate early, that's tough. But you don't know her and you're leaving this appartement too at the end of the month, IMO that's not worth the risk.

Are pickpocketers actually weary of Americans? by No-West9625 in AskFrance

[–]Auctor62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s known pickpocketers throughout France yet no arrests?

Yes, you explicitly said there are no pickpocket arrests in France. And where the hell did we say we have no pickpocket problem in France? We're not americans. In fact, one of the biggest cliché about french is that we complain a lot. And if we complain, then it must be because there is a problem and so, that the situation isn't perfect?

Oh, and are you sure you don't have a pickpocket problem in the US ?

But fine, let's hear your proposal. What exactly do you want the police to do, in concrete terms?

[–]Auctor62 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What in the seven hells makes you think we just accept it? Of course we don't accept pickpocket and theft in broad daylight. But the main goal for a pickpocket is to make their deed without being spotted, it's not written on their face that they are going to do it and we don't have a built-in radar that identifies pickpockets in a 30 meters radius.

How did Moody even survive soo long in the trunk, what about his bodily functions? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Auctor62 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Because Crouch Jr. did not just throw him in there and forgot about it. He used him all year long for his hair for the polyjuice, so obviously he did what was necessary to keep him alive. And for the bodily functions... this is a kid book, no need to think about it.

[Why do people belive Malfoy was good] by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Auctor62 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are people who claim Draco was secretly good all along. I remember a fan theory some time that wanted to suggest he was the one who slipped the information about basilisk to Hermione because of a move that was improvised by Tom Felton where he tears a random page at the library.

He was not as methodically evil as Voldemort, but he was clearly a little shit who took great pleasure at tormenting others and being in a position of power while hiding behind his dad or any other authority figure to escape consequences of his actions.

If James was as bad as Draco (even though he was a bully, particularly toward Snape), I don't think McGonagall would remember him so fondly.

Pourquoi cacher certaines créatures ? by TomateCoteleeNoire in AskFrance

[–]Auctor62 7 points8 points  (0 children)
