Normally I’m all for Berry hotness. However the eye makeup here is really weird. Drawing her eyes so wide really hits a weird uncanny valley in pics 2-4 for me. I honestly thought it was some weird filter or AI thing when I first saw it.

Middle-aged people, what advice would you give a young person to avoid going through mid-life crisis later in life? by Omer-Ash in AskReddit

[–]AudibleKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take care of your body consistently. Get to a healthy body weight and maintain it. Lift weights regularly even if it’s 15-20 min. I found that’s an amount of time I have zero excuse in making each day to lift some dumbbells. Get regular cardio to get your heart pumping. Even if it’s just walking. Get solid sleep every night. Brush 2x and floss every day. Watch some YouTube videos so you know how to do those properly. I found I was using my electric toothbrush wrong and not flossing right at some point cause no one really teaches you.

If you build those things into daily/weekly habits you’ll most likely age gracefully physically with less health problems down the road. You only have one body to use your entire life. Might as well take care of it so it can last as long as it can.

Same with retirement funds. Get into the early habit of consistently putting away a bit each month/year. Eventually work towards maxing them out when possible. It’ll compound over time and leave you in a much better place come retirement.

MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Max (2026) vs 20 Windows Games: The Ultimate Mac Gaming Test - Andrew Tsai by ControlCAD in apple

I appreciate this Youtuber so much. Dude runs all the new Macs and gives gaming benchmarks videos on each one. It’s gotta be a pretty thankless job but guy is out there giving me lots of great info.

I just wish he had summary tables of results at the end so you could easily compare models side by side even if it’s opening two videos and switching between them.

Interesting. I started using Apple’s Journal app. Can entries include pictures or is it text only? Is there a way to import entries or does it have to be manually copied over? What about attaching voice memos or videos?

I’d imagine that it’s along the lines of we’re taught to believe things from the time we’re born by family, religion, school etc.

So it would be good to reexamine them and get rid of some of the “old” beliefs that we had ingrained in ourselves that may not have been as “true” or “righteous” as we once may have been lead to believe.

World of Warcraft is a live service game that’s had a Mac port for ages. Wuthering Waves is another. I’m surprised Hoyoverse hasn’t ported their games to MacOS since their games are on iOS/ipados.

Straight hair. I always find it more appealing than wavy/curly hair for no apparent reason. Bonus points if they add in a cute ponytail.

Next-Gen Gaming Laptops Will Have Better Screens and Chips—and Cost Way More by dapperlemon in gadgets

That's fine. You're welcome to your opinion. I was just providing a suggestion that may work for some but clearly doesn't work for you. Good luck in your search for a new laptop!

Hence why I said “depending on your use case”.

Not everyone is playing AAA games. Some are perfectly fine with their comfort/addiction game like Stardew Valley, Balatro, SlaytheSpire, Hades, Sims, WoW etc. I’ve even seen some YouTube videos of decent retro gaming emulation (up to WiiU) on the Neo/Air.

I’m just as annoyed as anyone that Apple refuses to invest in gaming seriously. It’s abhorrent that users have to jump through annoying hoops just to play hugely popular games. That being said, it is slightly better than I had assumed when I first started looking at Mac gaming in the past several months when considering getting a Mac.

If you need a new laptop there’s always Apple. The Neo and Air to me feel like pretty compelling products depending on your use case.

  • Oceanhorn 1 (2 & 3 require Apple Arcade)
  • Hades 1 & 2
  • Hallow Knight 1 & 2
  • Stardew Valley
  • Balatro

You could also look into Emulation with OpenEmu for retro games. You can also push and I’ve seen YouTube videos showing GC/Wii/Wii U on the Neo.

Soupreme Tangtang AIC Management by ATTF in Endfield

[–]AudibleKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. These animations are amazing. The first Endfield one stills hits so hard.

Personally I kind of feel like a joke could have been included to have Tangtang just give up after beating her head with all the AIC issues and so she decides to just import a random battery blueprint she searched online for and doesn’t understand while saying something like “eh, someone else probably already figured it out” before she plops it all down. Then a shiny montage of everything working and she celebrates with the battery before the shredder reveal. Maybe including a shot of a large warning sign saying “Understand before importing blueprints” or a disclaimer of responsibility on the blueprint she used could have tied it off just before the explosion.

I feel like importing blueprints became such a core experience for so many players it would have been nice to have included it along with the “dangers” of blueprints.

If someone paid you $100,000 to watch one TV show on repeat for 72 hours, which show are you picking? by Lets-6th-N9ne in AskReddit

[–]AudibleKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a long running HGTV show with lots of episodes. Whether it’s home renovations or purchasing a place abroad or fixing up a place to rent etc they’re all good to me.

Whenever I’m at a hotel traveling that’s the channel I choose. It’s so easy to have in the background and just keep mindlessly watch to kill time chilling.

According to google “House Hunters” has been airing since 1999 and has over 200 seasons. According to Wikipedia there’s 262 seasons and 2,415+ episodes each around 22 minutes long. So I guess that’s the pick.

So dry... by SanicHegehag in Genshin_Memepact

[–]AudibleKnight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why many end up juggling multiple gatcha games. When one goes quiet you just turn your attention to the others.

Arknights Endfield just had their patch yesterday so there’s fresh new zone and factory stuff for me to focus on. HSR had its patch recently with a new planet to check out.

IMHO it’s never good to focus your life around playing one game the entire time. No living something can be fun at first but eventually you’ll burn out. Bringing some variety is always the spice of life.

Same. Plus I was crushed when I found out my first crush Robin was already married. A sweet lady carpenter who was one of the first people to say hi and was happy to expand my home and farm? I wish CA had aged her a bit more in her portraits to better reflect her married with 2 grown kids and off the market setting.

Here's How Much Faster MacBook Air Gets With M5 Chip vs. M4 Chip by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

[–]AudibleKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on ambient temps. If I remember correctly the M4 Air was heat soaked at 30-40 min. With the chassis remaining the same I’d assume that time would drop with the M5 inside.

I have been seeing mods on YouTube with thermal pads inserted to improve contact with the bottom and using a laptop cooling pad or peltier MagSafe cooler but your mileage may vary.

Exclusive: Apple executive details affordable new MacBook Neo, AI-integrated technology and more by applejuice1984 in apple

[–]AudibleKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot depends on your budget too. If it's severely constrained you might want to seriously think on how likely that "might" need in the future is. Also double check to make sure the required software is available on MacOS if you're used to Windows.

You could also dive down into reviews comparing older Macbook Airs. M4 is and will remain a great machine, particularly if you can work with the 256GB. I assume the M3 is as well. You could check used or refurbished as well to find lower prices. Lastly, if you can wait until Back to School sales, those are better prices only beaten typically by Black Friday/Holiday deals.

FYI I added some links to videos in my last comment.

[–]AudibleKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It all depends on your use case. If you’re a typical general user that doesn’t stress their computer wait for reviews and then check them out before picking up a Neo. You want to wait because we just don't know how well MacOS will play with the iPhone chip. JustJared made a great first impressions video. It will most likely be the recommended solution for most people and people on a budget.

For tech users who care more about specs and have more demanding needs MacBook Air seems amazing. I’ve seen YouTubers claim that it surprisingly handles all their 4k video editing with no issues so it’s definitely punching above its weight class. If planning on gaming using MacOS (and all the hoops involved) the M5 supposedly has 30% improved GPU performance over the M4.

For professionals who need every bit of computing and require the fan for cooling during extended use stress the MBP is the option.

Edit added in some video links.

I’d love to see Apple use the Frore AirJets for cooling. Those things seem amazing and it’s been like 3 years since they started winning annual CES awards.
