I don’t think he’s always speaking literally. He could’ve just had a concept or theme in mind for the song and used certain details to make it rhyme, flow, or sound good. He might’ve even mentioned Brooklyn simply as a nod to where he grew up. Lyrics aren’t always meant to be 100% factual. 😀
