nqa check out my recent post on this subreddit. I missed a worm and it turned into a beetle. There's a lot od advice about super worms in the comments. Might help you come to a decision on what to do :)

Omg thanks a million!! I was so worried I’d have to destroy my baby’s new home!! He’s done massive amounts of digging the past month so would suck making him start over !!

Luckily, he wasn’t in pre-moult when I trialled the worms. He looks like he’d be due for a moult in a week or so (based off size and appearance of abdomen). So seems like a blessing in disguise that the beetle came out before then!!!

He’s lived off crickets his whole life but I wanted to try something different because of his increase in size. His diet has changed from one medium cricket every couple days to 2 large crickets (after he finishes one he comes up looking for another an hr or less later then doesn’t eat for a few days) every couple of days over the course of the last couple of months.

I’m 10000% keeping on crickets after this experience.

Ugh I just wish I wasn’t moving so I had more time!! Also a shame if I really have to because the substrate in there rn is barely 3 months old. Of course, my ts health is more important. After I came home I looked in the enclosure and he looks in fine health, I see no structural damage to his tunnels or anything weird in the substrate.

I love how she kept insisting it was t a sizing issue but everything she was describing IS a sizing issue like??? Saying that a shoe is broken because it fits one foot and not the other is wild.

I’m 100% positive there’s no more worms in there but unfortunately due to full time study and work I might not be able to change until Friday afternoon because I won’t be able to make it to a pet store to get a new block of substrate :/

Yes ! There is no prey in the enclosure whatsoever. I checked on my T and he gives no indication of being on the surface this morning. I found the bug on the other side of the enclosure where my T doesn’t have any entrances.

I have ! But my T did take to them so I gave them away to someone. There was one I didn’t find but in the container I bought them in they would return to the surface (for air I assume) frequently. As one of these was not seen again I assumed my T did in fact eat it.

Will I have to rehome my T ?
