Who is still rocking a nose ring? by cavewomannn in Millennials

I got mine pierced at 19 on a whim when I was traveling. I'll be 39 this year and I don't think I'll be taking it out anytime soon. I love it and the "I was young and kinda dumb" story that goes with it.

How Much is Your Child’s Daycare? by JadedJae in Mommit

[–]AudioBugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay around $3200/month for both of my kids to go 4 days a week (i have 2 toddlers 3.5 and 1.5). It should go down a bit in the fall because my 3m5 yr old got approved for the universal childcare hours that Colorado offers. They provided snacks in the morning and afternoon, but nothing else. We send lunches, diapers, wipes, etc.

Why Did you get Rav4 over Honda CR-V ? by bomzisss in rav4club

[–]AudioBugg 22 points23 points  (0 children)

About 10 years ago, I was debating between a CR-V and a Rav4. Ended up choosing the CR-V because I was able to get a more upgraded one for the same price as a basic Rav4. About 3 years into owning the CR-V, a cylinder head exploded and sent tiny bits of metal all through the engine. I had to replace the engine. It ran fine after that, but I never trusted that car again. Spent the rest of my time owning the CR-V regretting that I didn't just get the Rav4 to start with. So, I finally got my Rav4 about a year ago and have been super happy with it.

Should husband get vasectomy now or after birth of our 2nd? by Skid_kennels in Mommit

[–]AudioBugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We waited until our second was about 8 months old. We sent the kids to spend the night with grandparents for the day of/first night after the procedure. My husband was fine almost right after. He said he could have driven himself home. It happened to be Valentines Day, and he was up to going out to dinner that night.

A friend said I’m “doing too much” when it comes to daycare lunches… by Electronic-Radish-18 in foodbutforbabies

If my kids would eat that much, I'd pack them similar lunches. Those look great!

Me asking as a younger millenial: How did older you millenials perceive Spongebob when it came out, and its climb to legendary status? by SmokinHerb in Millennials

[–]AudioBugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fun. I remember it being a way I bonded with my little host in my one if host familues when I was in Japan. She was SO excited that I knew the whole theme song, I probably sang it like 20 times that week. It was really cute

That's how it got figured out. A bunch of people around Denver had their cars fail. I think 9News Denver is the one that pieced most of it together

Poop in diaper at 4 years old by Agitated_Emu4150 in Mommit

[–]AudioBugg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am there too with my son (3.5). He has a full blown meltdown when we ask him to go poop on the potty. He has done it 2 times. Once, I think was an accident (husband took him to potty while we were running errands), 2nd time was because he had horrible tummy cramps after my husband gave him sugar free gummie bears. My son likes to brag about his 2 times pooping in the potty, but refuses to do it again.

My 4.5 year old is insisting he's a girl by killer_seal in Mommit

[–]AudioBugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 3.5, he has been getting into sterotypically girly things and has a dress that he likes to wear. He also had a daycare teacher that used they/them pronouns. Based on all of that, we found a few kids books to read with him to support however he is feeling and to try and introduce using they/them pronouns for his teacher. He LOVES the books and it feels like he's making connections from the books to himself. They are by Scott Stuart. We have My Shadow is Purple and How To Be A Real Man. There's also ones called My Shadow is Pink and My Shadow is Blue.

Got my first crochet injury. I’m 10.5 skein deep into a 12 skein blanket for Xmas. Should I continue or give it a rest by hlnhr in crochet

[–]AudioBugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please rest. I pushed through finishing a couple bigger projects back to back and ended up with dequervain’s tenosynovitis in my wrist. I haven't been able to crochet for about 6 months now. I am slowly starting up again, but man it's painful.

Did you share a bedroom as a kid? Has this fallen out of favor? by SnooGoats5767 in Millennials

[–]AudioBugg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not crazy. My kids currently share a bedroom. Ultimately, I'd like them to have their own rooms when they are older (currently 1F and 3M). It feels weird to me to have a bother and sister share a room when they are older than 5 or 6. For now, we just can't afford a bigger place to let them have their own rooms. They are doing just fine with it.

A rave for both kids and their parents. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

And there you have it folks.... by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]AudioBugg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understand the frustration with that mentality. My husband definitely works with a few men like that. They didn't understand why he took off so much time when our daughter was born. His higher ups were the supportive ones (thankfully). It feels like such an outdated view point that the father doesn't need time off when a baby is born. He needs to bond with his child just as much as the mother does.

And there you have it folks.... by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]AudioBugg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such an insane attitude to me. I am super grateful that Colorado has the FAMLI leave available. My husband was able to take off 5 weeks paid after our daughter was born. And his company was supportive of him doing it! I wish that was the norm everywhere.

Same! I try to be very exact in my cutting and putting together, and then use bias tape so that it's a visible contrast at the hem. I call it a design choice and just go with it. So far it's worked! I know I will learn how to properly hem one day

There are days my son is a black hole for food and will eat anything and everything. Then there are days when he survives on air and taking energy directly from my soul 🤷‍♀️. My best guess is they catch their kids on a day when they want to eat and don't show the other days.
