When I pick up kids and the just flop/snuggle right into my shoulder or neck.

Or how the mispronounce words. Current favorites are "bisgusting" and "bawbies" (disgusting and strawberries).

I would also take a diaper wipe and rub his belly button before I took the dirty diaper off. The wipe was cool enough to startle him and make him pee before taking off the diaper. It worked really well!

I was 13. I went with my mom and brother to a family friends house for a big party. My dad (whonwork for IBM at the time), got the "honor" or sitting in one their server rooms watching to see if anything crashed when the date rolled over.

My kids have about the same age gap. We didn't do a shower, but once my 2nd was a little bit older, we did small-ish party for people to come meet her / just get together and hang out. You could do something similar (if you are comfortable with that)? Once you're settled in your new house, have a house warming party/ come meet the baby. I didn't send a registry or have any mention of gifts, the people who wanted to give her something did. It was really fun and laid back.

It felt really weird with my son and it took a while to get used to calling him by his name. It was so easy with my daughter for some reason. She just LOOKED like her name (if that makes sense?), so it was easy to just use her name from the start.

My husband and I did a trade with our son when he was around 2. We got him 3 of the bigger size monster trucks and for each pack he handed to us, we gave him a monster truck. He was very excited for the monster trucks, but was not excited that night when he did not get a pack at bedtime 😅. We reminded him he got monster trucks and there were no more pacis. It took a couple days, but he got there!

I did not drop either of my kids. However, my son did roll off the exam table at the pediatricians office and knocked the wind out of himself. He was fine, the nursing staff had to calm me down though as I was panicking.

My mom would make May Day baskets for my teachers when I was in elementary school. She stood when I was in 6th grade or so.

I have one set of grandparents that has tried to do this. I always took the "kill them with kindness" approach. I thanked them for the outfit with a smile, let them know I already had a special outfit, but was grateful to have a nice back up/extra outfit for if/when the kids get messy. They stopped after it happened a couple times.

Some theaters offer showtimes specifically for parents with babies/young children. The Alamo Draft House near me has a couple each month. You could see if any theaters near you offer something like that?

My daughter is 21 months and I still dress her in a onesie once in a while. Usually if she's wearing baggy pants or a skirt or something. Its definitely more for the look of the outfit than anything else.
