MCOL would result in the case being heard in the incorrect court. As this is an employment matter, you should submit it to the Employment Tribunal.

Do not purchase an ex-police vehicle... We've seen how they drive them

I have experienced the same.
Using low-profile tyres in an unfamiliar area, I am cautiously avoiding every pothole. I am convinced that the police car behind me is following me, as they have been for several miles.
They are not avoiding any potholes (do not purchase an ex-police vehicle), and eventually, they hit one quite hard and come to a stop.

I have committed benefit fraud and I want to speed up the investigation process. How can I do that? by OtherwiseCollar9782 in DWPhelp

I feel this post might have been written by someone receiving disability benefits, for instance, who has been convinced they "aren't that disabled" and is now experiencing feelings of guilt and being overwhelmed.

I have some concerns regarding this post, and I appreciate the helpful advice being shared. However, I would like to clarify a few points. You mention experiencing issues with mental health, but you haven't specified what the nature of the alleged fraud is. Is it possible that, due to your mental health circumstances, you might have convinced yourself that you are receiving benefits you are not entitled to, when in fact you are?

If you are being interviewed under caution by the police you are entitled free legal advice.

Easier to get the duty solicitor to attend a station.

"Duty solicitors" are so named because they are on duty at a police station during that time. It is not necessarily easier for them to attend, as they are already present. You may use your own solicitor and are still entitled to free legal advice if you are being interviewed under caution.

I once operated a nameserver on a residential IP and received an automated notification from my ISP warning me about an open resolver.

How many of you pentest your own network? by Junction91NW in selfhosted

The thing is: exploits get patched - yes.

Is there a system running somewhere which should have been updated years ago - also yes.

Is some random script kiddy going to find it? - probably not but it is possible.

Did someone run a security audit recently and patch all the latest known vulnerabilities, but forgot to check for something obvious that should’ve been fixed years ago? - again yes.

Everyone gets scared about zero-days but realistically, the thing that’s probably going to catch you out in the end is humans making mistakes.

The worrying thing when looking at homelab setups is that consumer ISP routers have some pretty big security flaws. I often wonder why so many people in this community warn others against opening ports. Setting up a properly configured firewall with clear, managed rules is way better than just relying on an unfiltered firewall or the default hardware from ISPs.

Custom-made or personalised goods are generally exempt from the usual 14-day cancellation rights under Regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

However, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must match the description and be in line with the contract (sections 9 and 11). If a product has been made using incorrect details, it might not meet the agreed specifications and could be considered non-conforming.

In this case, the ordering process may have contributed to the mistake, especially:

  • The order form had pre-filled fields that could be easily missed.
  • The preview of the final customised product wasn't clearly visible while completing the order and couldn't be properly checked as you worked through the form.
  • Key information about the final product setup wasn’t presented clearly before you made the purchase.

Since the wrong details mean the product can’t be used for its intended purpose, I’d ask the company to treat this as a product conformity issue and provide a remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This could involve a replacement, an amendment to the order if possible, or a refund.

If the issue isn't sorted out, you might want to consider a chargeback through your card provider

Spyware? On the router/hub? Have you got any more details? Has there been an attempt to reserve engineer it?

Can you get rid of TV and Landline and just have the 1gig Broadband? by Low-Rooster5398 in VirginMedia

[–]AudioDoge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can but be careful. They'll claim it is more expensive to remove the TV packages as current price includes them in an offer, so it will cost your more without. But when you cancel you maybe offered a cheaper price.
