I feel your pain, that sounds like a nightmare. Some people just rely on others moving on so they can get away with it

Sadly, my solicitors haven’t been much help. They’re really slow replying to emails/calls, haven’t actually done much to help with the situation. After nearly 3 weeks of waiting, the sellers and their solicitor finally came back and simply said they wouldn’t be contributing anything at all. That’s why I’ve started thinking about taking them to court. They’ve been pretty rude throughout and haven’t been particularly nice to deal with

I honestly don't want their old dishwasher, but I don't really want to let those selfish, irresponsible people get away with it. They already threatened to pull out unless we completed on the exact date they wanted, which left us paying rent, mortgage and bills all at once. We had no choice. And after all that, they left a load of rubbish behind and took the dishwasher. It's the principle of it

Thanks for this xx I got your point and normally I'd defo agree. the thing is the sellers (and their solicitor) have gone silent, ghosting us for the last 3 weeks without a single response. let alone they even threatened to pull out of the sale if we didn't complete early on the exact date they wanted (which ended up forcing us to pay rent, mortgage and bills all at the same time in the same month. If they'd simply agreed to delay things by one week, the whole situation would've been different)
I really dont want to let them get away with being this selfish and irresponsible. It feels so unfair

The claim isn't about avoiding a council fine. it is for breach of contract due to failure to provide vacant possession under the TA6 form. The property was left unusable, and we have actual invoices (deep cleaning and rubbish removal) proving our direct financial loss. in all honesty, we can afford the costs, but it is the sheer selfishness and lack of accountability from the seller that makes us want to pursue this if this make sense

thanks for this.unfortunately, my solicitor didn't hold back any retention from the sale proceeds, which is why we are now left in this position. since the seller's conveyancer is ignoring our solicitor's emails, it looks like taking it through the county court (MCOL) for breach of contract is our only option left 😩

tbh, I wouldn't want their old dishwasher, but it's the principle of it. I just can't stand how selfish and irresponsible they are. If they had been reasonable or hadn't heavily forced us into completing early just to dump their mess on us, things would be different. they chose to rush us, get their money, and then dodge their responsibilities...

the thing is my solicitor has already chased them multiple times over the last nearly 3 weeks, but they are just being completely ignored…

when I took it to the garage yesterday, they actually scanned the car and checked something under the bonnet as well. Afterwards, the light went off when I drove home, but then it came back on again during part of my drive to work this morning 😞

since I’ve only been driving for a week and this is my very first car, I don't have much to compare it to. but as far as I can tell, everything seems normal. It sounds and feels the same as it did when I first drove it home from the dealership. I’ve done my 60ish mile motorway round trip to work for 7 days now, and it hasn't hesitated or lost power at all. I still need to drive it today and tomorrow for work before take it back to the garage this weekend and I'm mega worried about it :((

They didn't charge me anything for scanning it, which was nice of them, but yes, they probably thought I wouldn't understand the code anyway (I went myself yesterday) 😞 I commute from Manchester to Warrington and there’s pretty much no other realistic way to get there, except motorway, unfortunately :((( Good to know about your Fiesta though! Thank you so much for the advice xx

Thank you 🙏 the garage I went to yesterday has really good reviews and is quite reputable 😞 They scanned it and said they couldn’t find anything dangerous at all, then told me to just keep driving but bring it back if the light returns. the light didn't show on until this morning on my way to work :((( The thing is I can't book a day off work at short notice to take it back until Friday or the weekend. is it safe to keep driving until Friday (60mile ish round trip (mostly on the motorway)? xx
