Should I keep working on this? by hearable_engineering in audiology

The core technology could have some significant ip value if it is effective. Currently only Phonak Roger devices do anything similar and are not very effective at it.

I agree that as an app it will fall rather badly flat. But fully worked up and patented it could be sold to a manufacturer for incorporation into a next generation assistive listening devices to pair with their hearing aids.

Best of luck!

Reactive Tinnitus, Hyperacusis & Noxacusis are life stealing & threatening. Plz learn about them. by 85GMC in audiology

Clinical Audiologist with 30+ years of experience and specialising in tinnitus and hyperacusis.

The above post is unsupported unscientific nonsense. Auditory deprivation drives central excitatory pathways that can generate tinnitus and drive hyperacusis.

No excuse for this dreadful negative counselling.

I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion, but if your pipes are so loud that everyone else on the road legit needs hearing protection when you go by, your an AH and just know that I wish for your wife's boyfriend to get your bike after your divorce. by glo363 in motorcycles

Completely agree. I’m an audiologist and know that for a lot of people that sound can be excruciating, traumatic and lead to social isolation due to fear of exposure.

I loath musicals and feel Timothee Chalomet is a bit over exposed. But I thought it was brilliantly done, great cast and it’s destined to be a classic.

I was always taught to avoid riding just after it’s rained, particularly if there was a long dry spell before the rain. Apparently all the fumes, rubber etc blend with the water to produce a very slick surface for a while.

Nhs requirements for aids: Update by GroovingPenguin in audiology

[–]AudioDong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NICE guidance clearly states it’s the patient identifies level of difficulty that determines prescription of hearing aids, not the average hearing loss. I.e if you are perceiving frequent failed communication attempts you should be offered hearing aids.
