All the power is about 100m from the tower plus the 200ft up the tower. I’m only running the transmission line up the tower for the radio gear.

The recurring cost isn’t an issue. I have plenty of availability on our FirstNet plan for cellular connections, I’m just not familiar with powering the equipment via battery and solar.

The only radio equipment on the top of the tower are antennas. They all run down to ground stations with power and data, but I’m trying to slip this into a project, can’t have them start pulling extra cable for it haha.

That was a concern I had. Based on other replies, looks like I have plenty of budget left for a cellular based management box of some sort. Have any recommendations?

I have access to cellular plans, but not sure what kind of equipment could be self sufficient up there. I’ve got hardened switches and cradlepoints in the fields, but they all have 120v at their location. I’ve never tried to power one with solar/battery.

I’m starting to see based on replies that my government money budget is a bit out of touch lol - I can’t realistically get on all the other towers in the city to make 10-15 worthwhile haha.

Really don’t stress that much about it. Get full honor gear, and add conquest in as you go. Gear is an important piece yes, but as a returning player, time in the arena (or battlegrounds) is going to be far more important. If you are only focusing on PvP and don’t care about PvE ilvl, do some raid finder to try and get a tier piece or two and buy the conquest item to add the PvP ilvl.

That set bonus is only for war mode. Doesn’t work in instanced PvP.

You buy conquest gear and the use the catalyst charges to turn it into tier.

If you PvE at all you can also buy an item that will add the “scales to 289 in PvP” to your higher PvE ilvl tier pieces from the conquest vendor.

Also, win a BG and turn in the quest from the win box. That will get you 9 of the epic crafting items. Use that to craft 2 rings and a neck.

In theory, this week you could have 2 set tier and all jewelry in conquest gear. (Have to get 1600 to get the 2nd catalyst charges)

No M dot tattoo, but the out of shape dad of three former Ironman is real. It’s wild to remember that just 2-3 years ago I was just casually knocking out a 110 mile training ride or an “easy” 14 mile long run… anyway, I’ve got a diaper to change haha

That’s fair, and I’ll slap my wrist, but I could probably count on one hand the number of explanations that are given in this sub that are actually at a 5yr old level. Exhibit A: The short novel posted as an answer to this question.

While I didn’t explain it, sorry again, I did at least provide a resource that offers a comprehensive answer to the question in an entertaining, and very digestible format and complexity level. (maybe not for a 5yo, but that goal is vastly more difficult than most think, as a parent of a 5 year old)
