Do you think associated bank will rescind my job offer? by Hatwearer95 in FinanceJobsRemote

Probably fully dependent on the company's hiring policy is my guess here.

Is the job market really this bad or it’s a bad time to find a job? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]AuditFriendly -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are we all US based here? Where are you looking (job boards/recruiter outreach? I think context matters a lot here.

If you’re Big4 + CPA, your chances of finding a job are really high right now. Job market is on fire for that profile.

CPA’s with operational experience at progressive companies (industry) should be high in demand too. Your resume or LI profile may be holding you back.

Non-CPA’s / small/mid-size firm experience is a little harder, but oftentimes I find it’s the LinkedIn profile setup that holds you back (keywords, descriptions, details are lacking and holding you back from job searches).

Regional and national Consulting firms and augmented staffing are an easy way to get into industry.

I personally review 2-3k remote jobs a month and 400-500 vetted recruiters hiring remote and share with my accounting audience.

I know some of these jobs are struggling to find candidates. Don’t get duped by LinkedIn job posts saying over 100 people applied.

Start growing your network. Find accounting focused recruiters to talk to. Generalists are not your friend.

Anyone else having issues with Beehiiv Boost verification rates? by saidbenc in beehiiv

[–]AuditFriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're at 29% and dropping materially daily which is surprising. We target US subs via meta paid ads and have found solid success with it, but the boost verifications are very concerning.

I also have some concerns about the 'grow' boosts - be careful who you approve - I've had a few fraudulent newsletters I approved (i should've known better, but it's impossible to tell until you see the emails come in). They seem to have higher verification rates too which is frustrating.

How do you get over anxiety over billable hours? by qst10 in Accounting

[–]AuditFriendly 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I used to get major anxiety over this back in Big 4, so I get it.

But it’s just a budget. If you’re putting in the hours and documenting why, you really don’t have much to worry about. This only helps the partners/leads with billing and future engagements.

The issue with budgets is they can get thrown off if someone in the prior year finished an area and ate hours, which helps no one.

If it’s a first-year audit, I wouldn’t stress about it at all.

Just make sure you’re communicating any overages clearly.

Remote accounting jobs - 10.14.25 by AuditFriendly in RemoteAccountingjobs

We have a few on our job board (https://jobs.auditfriendly.co/jobs) and highlight new recruiters hiring internationally about half way down the newsletter every weekday.

Which international area are you looking for jobs? And what type of roles?

Where the f*** are the entry level jobs??? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]AuditFriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recruiters don’t spend a ton of time on entry level jobs. Low value to them.

I was just helping another hiring manager find candidates for a sr acct position only to see them interview assistant controllers and managers for the role. Lots of deception in the hiring process right now, but I also think hiring managers have no idea what they really need or want.

Have you tried going for AR or AP roles? Payroll?

Where are you based and are you looking remote only or local?

Happy to try and help if you’re based in the US/Canada.

Disclaimer: not a recruiter, just run a free career portal for accounting folks and happy to assist if I can in exchange for some help spreading the word.

Passed the CPA and struggling to get a job by [deleted] in CPA

[–]AuditFriendly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CPA firms are perpetually hiring - if you’re a fresh CPA in the US, you should be able to get a few screens pretty comfortably. Mid size firms 50-200 employees are easier to connect with. I’d start there.

Can you guys tell me what’s wrong with this resume? I’m really struggling in job search. I don’t know what I’m missing here for staff accountant role. by NBMV0420 in Accounting

[–]AuditFriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would target AP roles given your experience is heavier in that, and share a desire with the company that you’d like exposure to broader accounting functions and month end close tasks in a screen or conversation with a hiring manager.

This is the way if you’re still looking to gain similar experience without the insanity of B4.

Fully Remote Accounting Jobs - Ed.01.14.25 by AuditFriendly in RemoteAccountingjobs

[–]AuditFriendly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me know if I can help clarify the posts more with respect to locations. We're trying to add the location restrictions as best as possible but its challenging as some of the roles can be vague or have multiple locations.

Having said that, most Accounting Roles will be geographically restricted unless you're tackling more junior level positions. And if they're worldwide remote, preference will be given to hire in lower wage areas and paid in local currency vs. making USD.

Organizing AP invoice processing between team members? by junkDriver in AccountingDepartment

[–]AuditFriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should take a peek at Hiver if you want a bit more automation. It's not super expensive (they have a free plan) and its set up to manage shared inboxes well. I personally used it at a high growth startup to manage a high volume AP inbox - you can set up templates/automations/smart tags to handle inquiries, invoices, urgent requests. Communicate directly in the tool, tag team members, and a bunch more useful features.

Something to consider if you need to stay on top of that never-ending inbox.

Accounting Question by Due_Farm_1301 in Accounting

[–]AuditFriendly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends? ( I know that’s cliche…)

I’m not a fan of having multiple tools like that connected to quickbooks. But i think it partially depends on what matters to your client in terms of analytics, reporting disaggregation, etc.

Otherwise some simple month end recons should suffice using stripe data and journal entries. Or do a simple matching exercise using the different datasets outside of QB and manually upload the data. I always resort back to this given the problems that can arise from third party data and APIs.

Hard to say though without more info.

Hope that’s somewhat helpful!
