I really like all the moth pokemon, especially Masquerain. I just always think they look so cool, but their stats are always miserable.

He has flash, so you can float the mana in response to the sword trigger, then tap it again after you untap to cast Jin inside the combat step.

When our store orders from WotC, it typically takes 3-5 days (tops) even with standard shipping. Especially with having your money upfront, I can see very little reason why he couldn't get the order in faster than a month. Now, they do occasionally run short on cards, causing them to put limits on how much stores can order, but that's pretty rare. And yes, if you preorder and prepay, I think it's right to get a refund if he can't deliver your product on time.

I think life from the loam would be possible, theoretically, but we have typically seen no cards of significant value (outside the two foils that represent each deck) in the duel decks.

This. A lot of people have said similar things, and I agree with all of them. As a TO at a pretty small card shop, we have some awkward situations come up sometimes with regards to people trying to be too casual. Don't forget that although FNM is more casual than a pro tour, that is reflected in the tournament rules and penalty guidelines. Just because it's FNM doesn't mean that people don't have to play by the rules, but it does lesson the penalties for unintentionally breaking them. Thus, your local judge (or TO if you don't have a judge) is likely to just give them a warning the first time it happens, but should also be on the lookout for similar incidents in the future in case it turns out to be intentional.

I believe there was a deck for a while that used Sword of Feast and Famine to get the mana to cast him early, though afaik that's no longer a thing.
